Fraggle Rock rocked! biggrin.gif
My wee sis was scared of that pile of rubbish that spoke and moved. Of course, the kind caring sister that I was meant that I told her it lived under her bed. She used to jump in to bed from a couple of feet away in case it got her. tongue.gif I also told her the Wheelers from “the return to Oz” lived in our bike shed...

Wasn't Fraggle Rock on cable? I know I didn't have it or ever watch it. I remember a friend that really liked it, but I think he had cable. Another friend raved about it, but then again, she liked ALF, which I never saw, and we all know why...it was on Mondays at 8!!! Um, excuse me, but I already had a show to watch then!!!

Yup... it was a favorite. That, and The Muppet Show. AND... it's on DVD (for all who miss it!)

Gobo rocked! I went through my second childhood with my son... THEN I had an excuse for watching children's shows. Now... well, I just love my cartoons! wub.gif

I am a younger sister as well as an older sister so I learnt exactly how to terrorise little sisters the hard way. I pretty sure I didn’t cause her any harm in the long run. My little sister grew up to be a happy health young woman who is rubbish at cycling but pretty good at the long jump. tongue.gif

Ratty,

That sounds like me telling my 4 year old son that the pipes and vents in industrial style ceilings in the brew pub dining room is there to suck up little kids that don't behave themselves during the meal. happy.gif

He believes me too, he keeps looking up at them and telling me "I'm being a behacing, right Mom?"

What a great idea! clapping.gif Those should be installed in all public places. smile.gif
You could get extra large ones for loud and rude adults too. Suck them up and spit them out. yucky.gif

Oompah, loompah, loop-ity do!
I've got a little riddle for you
Oompah, loompah, loop-ity dee!
If you are wise you'll listen to me

What do you mean making horrible noise?
Abandoning all pretense of behaviour and poise?
Embarrassing your parents with violent shrieks?
Behaving as if you belong in a side-show of freaks?

... throwing...
...temper...
... tantrums...

Oompah, loompah, loop-ity zoo!
If you cannot be good, we know what to do
Oompah, loompah, loop-ity zen!
You'll be sucked up a pipe and never heard from again!

Yes, I write twisted Willy Wonka poems, too... my corrupt craft in limitless!

Everyone, sometimes, needs a camel.

Old troubleshooters never die...
They just wait til the last moment and then rescue themselves!

Can you hum a few bars?

In the 80's... I remember Burger King employees had big hats (to go with the big hair) and the female employees had to wear dresses. We also had to sing the Burger King jingle whenever a customer asked to hear it. That job didn't last too long...

I have no idea where that came from... I'm bored, I guess.

Can you still double-dutch?

68% - not too bad. Of course, if I marked a check for everything from the '80s I remember- that would be 100% tongue.gif
There are some things from my childhood in the 1980s that I remember being around- that I just didn't do or have- like I remember Ghostbusters and MTV- but I wasn't allowed to watch either one...and I remember the Pound Puppies but didn't really own any, of course (though I did get a Pound Puppies jigsaw puzzle for a birthday some years ago)
I'm not sure about some of these things though- you remember when Madonna was still pretty trashy??? She's still pretty trashy now! rolleyes.gif
And I definitely remember wanting to eat Reese's Pieces after seeing E.T. That movie was the best thing to happen to that candy!
Remember people who had a Betamax VCR? Sure!- I was one of them! biggrin.gif
And perhaps one of my fondest memories of the '80s was watching Sesame Street, ThunderCats and MacGyver all at the age of 3 - seeing the latter 2 from their inception! yeah, seriously! smile.gif

Fraggle Rock does indeed ROCK! Look for Season 3 on DVD on September 11! (I can't think of a more fitting date! smile.gif )

And the Fraggles are due to make a return to the movie theaters soon! Frank Zappa's son is supposed to be in the middle of writing it now- due out in theaters probably by next year or so! biggrin.gif

68% Child of the 80's. biggrin.gif

I love the Fraggle Rocks and Muppets..

Still eat Reese's Pieces, but don't watch ET. Those I do have the DVD and VHS tape for it.

Love most of the tv shows from the 80's. Like Riptide, Simon and Simon, A-Team, Knight Rider (have a few episodes on Tape) and of course MacGyver!

Played double dutch and hopscotch..

Went roller skating almost every weekend and did those overnight roller nights. Sad day, I finally had to throw out my skates last week. sad.gif

Had a betamax machine.

Still have my favorite audio tapes, including the first one I ever bought.

Had a paper route.

Wore ripped jeans.

Well I could go on, but I think I'll stop while I'm ahead.. happy.gif

I still love the music of the '80's... early Madonna, Michael Jackson, the Jets (anyone remember them?)... Starship...

Still love the Muppets!

the Jets (anyone remember them?)...

sure- great football team based in New York biggrin.gif

(for real though- what songs did they do?)
And by the way, I like lots of '80s music too! But I'm more selective of certain songs I like from secular artists...("We Built This City"- Jefferson Starship- love it!)
Other good '80s bands I like would be Keith Green, Steven Curtis Chapman, Michael W. Smith, Carman, Amy Grant, Whiteheart, Petra and Stryper- grew up listening to most of these- still love it now!
