As stated, it's 5:30 AM and I can't sleep and I'm bored, so I thought I'd share this with you guys...

You know the Mac and Murdoc action figures I customized from GI Joes? Well, I've actually done 3 others, and am working on yet another. Anyway, I belong to this customizer board that does a contest every year where the members vote for the best customs in a bunch of categories... I was away on a trip when the winners were announced, but I came back to find that I had won in 3 categories! I couldn't believe it!

Ifnore the login stff and scroll down. I'm "Codename: Mac" on the board. No, MacGyver or Murdoc didn't win. That's Scarlett, one of the original Joes. There are no official female 8 inch figures (and apparently no hope for one) and Isaiah really wanted Scarlett. Every other female custom I've seen uses non-Hasbro/non-GI Joe parts, especially the head...mine is all Joe...I took an all guy action figure and made him a girl...LOL.

Anyway, she also won Best Overall Custom and Best GI Joe Sigma 6.

The one I'm working on now is a commission for another Scarlett...and I'm actually happier with her so far. That custom is awesome! I'm a Joe fan, and Scarlett rocks. This is great job, and faithful to the comic character. (Well, until they went crazy, but we won't go there!)

I'm looking for two first run Joe comics to complete my set. I could order them from Mile High, but it's more fun to keep looking at shows, etc. Picked one up last year-had needed three forever....

Anyway, CONGRATS! You deserve it!

Thanks jackwabbit! I'm not familiar with the comic versions really of any of the characters cuz I live pretty much in the Sunbow cartoon universe...so if I captured that, cool. The little inset in the pic is actually from her original card art. You might be able to find some of your missing comics on some of the forums I belong to. Lemme know and I can hook you up with some links.

lol...anyway, thanks for the compliments guys. I like sharing my geekdom and occasionally have someone not quirk their eyebrow and look at me like I've lost it! Incidentally, Isaiah likes Scarlett so much that I never get to play with her. But I always get Shipwreck and Mac...so I'm a happy girl...lol. What's really funny, is he watches me making my second Scarlett and he tells me all the improvement he wants me to make on my first one....

The original card art was basically from the comics, and the cartoon was pretty faithful, too-to the earlier comics. Marvel lost it later, and tried some really odd stuff, though. So, I only have the actual G.I. Joe line, not the later ones.

You'll have to post some pics of your improved Scarlett and your Baronness! I was at a con last year and a guy was doing pencil drawings. He had a Baronness that was simply awesome. Captured her athleticism and ability to kick some butt but still made her feminine. It was greatness, but out of my price range. That was the fun thing about early JOE. The women could kick butt, but looked like actual women. Then comic art changed and was all about fancy paper and inks and big chests and big guns and tiny waists, etc, and...well...I prefer old school comics. Sigh...

I'll have to get my lists out to see what I need for JOE. I believe it is issue 24 and 27. I am also looking for The X-Files-I need about 4 of those. (Newer comic, perfect example of new type, but it's a collection, so...)

Anyway...back to work.

I've just gone back and looked at these finally- and I must say they are really incredible! I particularly like Scarlett and Shipwreck- fantastic job!
Though regarding the Cobra Trooper- come on! MacGyver can take a Cobra Trooper!!!
