In the United States, the TV show MacGyver, which ran from 1985 to 1992, was popular for many years, the adventure series featuring the character of the same name. A Taiwanese man inspired by the character lives in the area near the Pingdong Airport. This man is extremely well versed in designing and producing art knifes.

Interesting that he used the same logic to defend knives that MacGyver ran up against when talking about guns. A knife may not necessarily be as lethal as a gun, but ultimately both sides are right. Either one can be used as a weapon, and some are more deadly than others and if they weren't available at all we wouldn't have to worry about misuse. But it always come down to individual responsibility for one's actions.

If "they" weren't available, how would we cut our meat????? Mac uses a SAK. Anything can be used as a weapon, even if it's not designed for that purpose.

Exactly. That was my point- it all comes down to individual responsibility for what you do. Like MacGyver said to the sheriff in "Jack in the Box", "It's a Swiss Army Knife!"
