I'm just curious if anyone is reading the fiction posted in here anymore--from any of our authors. There aren't any responses lately. sad.gif It looks like people are reading them, judging from the number of views I see listed for each topic, but I don't see any replies. I was wondering what's going on--is the Macs Loft thread becoming too popular? wink.gif Responding to the fiction isn't required of course, and that's fine if you just want to read it and be entertained. I guess I just like to know people are alive out there sometimes. happy.gif

Life's been pretty busy for me lately... at work and at home. I don't have time to write the three unfinished stories I've started... let alone reading other people's work.

I am glad that the stories are posted here, however, because one day I won't be so busy, and I look forward to catching up!

I've read a lot of the fan fictions... there are a lot I haven't read. Some I'll never read.

Some of the writers I think are just really bad, so don't comment (don't want to hurt anybodies feelings happy.gif ) ((might have to re-think that depending on how this thread goes)) and don't read any of their other works. Okay... some were so bad I came right out and said "please stop"... but those are rare. happy.gif

Some of the better ones or authors I think have potential, I'll comment on and or ask questions. My comments seem unwanted, unless it involves the blowing of sunshine up ones butt, and questions usually go ignored/unanswered.

And then theres Loth's biggrin.gif , which I've read (some I haven't gotten to sad.gif....YET biggrin.gif ) I commented on those. Gotten responses and answers to questions asked. So I'll continue to comment on her fics.. when I get to them.

Speaking of which, Loth. Where can one find your Legend fics? I remember seeing a link and having lost it. sad.gif

MacChick , I really enjoy your stories. Right now I have been waiting for the next chapter/s of Sunset in Tuscany. Hope you can speed them up.

I see you have started a new fic. Will hold off on that 'til I get the finals on the Tuscany. I know the new one will be a good one. Rory

I read it. But I haven't read all yet.

I don't comment on the stories. I might, though, when the story is finished. 'Cause I don't read it till it's finished.

I download the whole story for offline reading. Then I edit it into booklets, for better reading - I can take it with me away from the computer. Haven't gotten through all of them yet.

Well I can understand nobody replies on my old stories. I just finally got to repost them and like I said in that last post: Now everything of me is back online from the first chapter of Family in Agony till chapter 4 of When The World Changes. And speaking of that story I was indeed somewhat surprised/disappointed that no one replied on the third and fourth chapter while the first two was read with enthousiam. You know, MacGyver, Jack Dalton, his Blood Brothers friends and Murdoc going into the army and they're being trained by Jack O' Neill and Hammond and Pete. It was supposed to be a war/drama adventure.
But this year I never had time to do some decent writing. And I'm so full of inspiration. I'm brainstorming over a third version of Family in Agony (the last one, the ultimate one), I've got inspiration for a story on the friendship of Mac and Pete. And I'm trying to figure out a MacGyver/Magnum crossover. Those are three of the main stories I'm trying to think of. There's also a MacGyver/Sin City crossover and a MacGyver/24 crossover coming. But it's all very far away.
So there's plenty to be done but there just isn't time. I think probably the next time I could finally do some decent writing is in July.

Of course not, but responding could always be stimulating to the writer.

I still read (and enjoy!) it.

It's just that I never know what to reply.
Other than that I'm a little stuck with my story, but I'm still on it.

Well, MC don't get discouraged if noone replies. what you do is great :-)
At least I'm always anxiously waiting for the next part!

I only post a reply when something really "speaks" to me. Feedback is great, and I like to get it on the few things I've posted, but I'm usually lazy when it comes to posting about someone else's work unless it really stands out from the norm.

Honestly, I haven't had time to sit and read or give a whole lot of deep thought to anything, which is also why I haven't been real active in any but the goofy threads lately. Gosh i think I've only had time to watch one Mac episode in the last 3 months!!!!! Ack! tongue.gif After first week of July things will slow down for me and I'll probably have more time to read and comment. I don't like to read something unless I have time to think about it and usually comment. And hopefully I'll also get back to my too long dormant fic...and thanks to those who've pmed about it! smile.gif Might need Ratty to give me a good swift kick come July!! laugh.gif

I don't think anyone has forgotten what this site is about. This site is for fans of and the discussion of MacGyver. But I don't want to bust anyone's bubble by pointing out the fact that there hasn't been any new material in 15 years (other than an occasional decent fan fic true to the character) There's only so many ways you can discuss the same thing. Escpecially when we are all pretty much of a like mind, and when a topic gets started, the first person who posts can pretty much sum up the way we all feel.

The "off topic" threads are a place where we, a bunch of people who have a common interest, can get together and goof around until a "on topic" post comes around.

Like you say when people don't like your fan fic. If you don't like it, don't read it. If it's a major concern, start more interesting topics that are strictly MacGyver related.

Sometimes I will download them (read: cut and paste into a new document on my harddrive) so I can read them at my leisure. I get inturrupted so often when I'm on the forum, so I like to take my time to enjoy them. Every author has a unique individual style. This stuff is good! And I know I should respond directly to each of you... time is a big factor and I'm guilty.

Someday, I will write more of the story I started, oh so long ago... I think it was last summer...???

Ok so I read, but seldom (never) post. I have no intention of critiquing someone else's writing until I'm willing to put one of my oen out there.

BTW, I am working on a story inspired by a recent trip to Arizona. I'm working on it in fits and bursts due to time constraints involved with preparing for my booth at the art show in two weeks.

I haven't finished the story but I have revised the damn thing three times. Whne it comes to writing, I'm an obsessive compulsive perfectionist, so my son might be in graduate school (he's 4 yrs old) before I post it. laugh.gif
You will all have to be patient, very patient, because I'm not sharing until I have some logic problems resolved.

In the meantime, I will continue to read everyone's stories and enjoy them because they do allow me to escape from my overloaded reality right now.

Thanks for writing. As far as Mac's loft being too popular, I think it is fine to have an off topic section where memebers can goof around, tell jokes and play in a safe environment.

I read certain authors, (Macschick and Lothithil). Some of the other fiction is poorly written and I don't bother with it.

Macs Chick

Yes we do read - honestly - in fact the first thing I do when I get to work is check MOL for new fiction and you are one of the better writers to post on it.

As a writer myself I have NO excuse for not giving feed back as it always gives me a buzz to know that people like (or occasionaly don't like) what you have written.

So maybe I'll try and be more responsive in future but whatever you do don't let the lack of responses put you off... you're doing a great job (my stuff is way too long and way too dark for MOL) so keep it up girl!!

We like dark here. Besides MOL is not responsible for the content of the story, the writer is. So try it. And the fact that it's too long... The stories I have posted so far: Family in Agony, Lost Gold in the Ocean and A True Prisoner of Conscience are all above the 100 pages. So that's no problem at all.

I just wanted to gauge where everyone was, that's all. I know you're all out there. wink.gif I really do appreciate it when I receive solid feedback, and yes--I will try to give feedback to other authors as well. smile.gif I understand being busy, though. My new job is keeping me occupied! wacko.gif

RDA_Mad: Where have you been? It's been awhile. I have to say that I loved your dark stories. When they were posted on here I printed them to read them, and I have read them repeatedly. I enjoyed them so much! Actually, I have to tell you that your stories were one of the reasons I joined MOL--you inspired me and made me feel that I could post my own fiction, so thank you!

Actually, thank you all fanfic authors! clapping.gif Let's share a group hug and a tear (just kidding! happy.gif )
