Gosh, the Very First Time I crashed my Very First Desktop Computer -- which was a Mac -- I called tech support. This was so long ago, my children, that I spoke with a human being (gasp!), who talked me through the process of straightening out a paper clip and using it to trigger a manual floppy-disk ejection and reboot.

Well, c'mon, why do you think they called them Macs?

no, to tell you if you're supposed to yet. You can pull it out anytime you want- but it may not work right. At least it doesn't get sucked in and gone like on a Mac.
