lol. we used to have deer around.. now we just have a whole lot of bunnies. we kept some, once.. twice.. three times (the cats dragged them in), but they escaped..

Oooo! Pretty! We have a buck deer that grazes really close to our house. I consider myself fortunate to live in an area where I can encounter all kinds of wildlife--deer, elk...even coyotes and bears!

Deer Mommy had twins.
Sweetie was the "runt" of the two. Didn't think she'd make it for a while, but she's put on a bit of weight over the last two weeks.

I'm in Virginia on the outskirts of the Shenandoah so there's deer a plenty here. We have approx 13-20 that haunt the back of our lil spread durring fall and spring but a doe had these two in the ravine out behind our pond and she takes them back and forth between here and the two neighboring properties (taking the shady route). I herd them out of the gardens and we've become close enough to know I'm not going to hurt them but they can't stand there and look at me while munching on a flower. DROP THE FLOWER!

Anyway... don't raise them, but I think *cringes* I may have a couple orphans on my hands.

Passing within 20 feet of one another is an everyday experience but today I went out to check on them because they'd been laying under the Cherry tree all day with no sign of their mother. Butthead was skeptical but didn't run off and Sweetie walked right up to me. Not good. Gotta figure out what to do next if their Mum doesn't show tomorrow.

i think "spellt" is an "olde" version of "spelled". it was on purpose. i am young, and i chat many places where it is quite normal to abbreviate stuff, so yes, i do spell "you" "u", and i usually dont use caps alot. and i mostly use two dot things (..) instead of the normal three dots (...). so, to me, i dont consider them "typos", it is just my way.

once i saw a little baby fawn in the nature reserve near where i live, he must have only been a few weeks or month old. he was soooo small and sweet^^ but he was in the bushes and scarpered shortly after with his mum.... didn't have chance to take the lens cap off....

do you have like an animal rescue place??? here in the UK we have the RSPCA. you can phone them and they'll tell you what to do or come and help the animals themselves. once we got a pigeon down the chimney and had to get them in to get it out! we now have a net on the top of the chimney so it won't happen again

I used to raise orphaned squirels so I have a contact I used to hand them off to after they were off done being hand fed. But I really don't think I'll need to involve anyone else. They're old enough to make it on their own. I just have to make sure they keep out of trouble.

He's a butthead but he's not evil. It was near end of day and we're under shade trees so the flash when off. I guess that's the deer equivilent of red-eye.

Beautiful area... I'm jealous! As for your babies, doesn't your area have a sanctuary if they turn out to be orphans? And as far as I know, they shouldn't get to used to humans if they are live sucessfully in the wild...

Cool Nymphy. We have lots of deer out here in Utah. A few years ago, we had a small group sleeping in my flowerbed under my bay window.

I see lots of wildlife around here too. Lots of deer, jackrabbits, eagles, hawks, owls, coyotes, and yes, snakes. Yesterday I saw a badger while I was driving to my office.

Yep we have critters a plenty around here. Deer, Jack and Bunny Rabbits, Eagles, two Hawks mating in the back, owls ( had a skretch owl last year... glad he's gone), yes snakes (mostly the harmless variety) opposums, raccoons... what else? Oh! Got a fox back there haven't seen her in a couple months. Mmmmm... couple years back the National Forestry knocked on the front door to let us know a baby black bear they were tracking was under our house. Have seen bobcats but no coyotes or bagers.

Oh and of course the smaller critters. Chipamunkas took about half the strawberries this year... the little poos. Got squirrels. Did have a groundhog... but we won't talk about that.

And what did you do with said groundhog? Ship him to Pennsylvannia?
