Ok this is my story my friend and I started about 15 years ago and were unable to finish the ending..

We were only about 15-17 years old.. For the MacGyverisms are pretty simple and not elaborate. But we did add three new characters.. In our story Pete has a Daughter and Mac has a sister.. And a new friend too.. smile.gif

Hope you like..

Part one..

"Charlene, did you remember the balloons for Mac's birthday party?" Mallory stated loudly from the other room for Mac to hear.

For the last two weeks Mac has had to put up with Charlene and Mallory talking about the surprise party they were planning for his birthday and it was driving him crazy. They meant well, but he really wasn't looking forward to it and he didn't know how to tell them.

Mac walked up to Mallory. "Mal, about this birth..."

"Sorry Mac, can't talk. Late for a meeting with dad. Bye."
Mallory interrupted rushing off down the hall.

"Char," He turned to his sister. "can I talk to you about about my birthday?"

Charlene cocked a curious eyebrow. "Birthday...what birthday?" She wondered running after Mallory. "Mallory Thorton, is there a birthday coming up?"

Stopping abruptly Mallory replied. "What birthday? I don't know anything about a birthday. Who said there's a birthday?"

"My brother did." Charlene said as they continued to walk down the hallway.

Hearing Mac slam his office door, they broke out laughing. "He's going to kill us for this." Mallory caught her breath from laughing to hard. She had to balance herself against the wall.

"He really likes birthday parties, he just won't admit it." Charlene looked at her watch. "We have better be going. We have a lot to do before tonight."

* * *

Mac hesitated before entering his boathouse. He didn't want to disappoint Charlene and Mallory, so taking a deep breath he jumped into the boathouse yelling surprise. But to his surprise no one was there.

The boathouse stood empty except for a box on the table marked "MacGyver"

"Why me? I'm getting to old for this. I bet Jack got them to do this to ***beep*** me off." He threw his keys on the table beside the box and sat down.

Finally deciding to open the box he started taking items out of it and laying them on the table in front of him. Mac recognized them to be his friends’ most prized possessions: Mallory's locket, Pete gave it to her for her eighteenth birthday; Charlene's wedding ring from a previous marriage; Pete's beeper (he went no where with out it); Jack's lucky hat and Ben's old pinkee ring. The last thing he pulled out was a tape recorder. Noticing a tape in it he pressed play.

"Happy Birthday, MacGyver." The familiar voice of Murdoc echoed at him from the tape recorder. "Sorry, but I couldn't stay for the festivities, I know I'm not welcomed. But I left you this present to let you know how much I care. I remember, when I was little, for my birthday we would have a treasure hunt. For your birthday I decided to have a treasure hunt using bigger prizes, namely your friends. Each item in front of you has an envelope attached. Inside each envelope is a riddle pertaining to the where about each friend. You have two hours to find each one. If you don't they will suffer a painful death. Good luck and have a happy birthday. P.S Your time starts now."

Staring down at the tape recorder Mac listened to Murdoc's laughter fade away.

Examining each envelope Mac discovered the one attached to Jack's hat had a number one on it. Opening the envelope he found a riddle that read:

DRINK FOR ONE
TOAST FOR TWO
IS THAT ALL THAT JACK CAN DO
IT IS A PLACE WHERE PILOTS GO
ONCE RETIRE OR WAIT TO BE HIRED

Staring at the riddle trying to figure out what it meant. "A drink for one, toast for two." Mac mumbled to himself. "A party maybe? Murdoc wouldn't make the riddle to hard, but it wouldn't make it to obvious."

Thinking of his friend, Mac thought of the information Murdoc would have access to. "It would be personal. Something only I would know. Drink...toast...a bar maybe." Quizzically he looked at the second part of the riddle. "Where pilots go once retired or wait to be hired. Hanger, airport or maybe a warehouse."

Searching through his memory he tried to figure where this place could be. "It couldn't be Tomcat. How would Murdoc know about it? That's where Jack and I first met." He slowly looked around the room trying to think. Then it hit him; the picture of Jack and himself on the wall. Written on it was a message from Jack to remember the day they met. "To good friends always remember Tomcat."

Glancing at his watch it read five thirty. "Two hours to get there." Grabbing his keys and jacket Mac raced out to his truck.

It was six o'clock when Mac arrived at Tomcat. Peeking into the windows he tried to see if there was any chance he could see Jack or find another way in besides the front door. Finding an open window Mac climbed in. He made his way to the main room only to find it deserted just like the rest of the building. But through the corner of his eye he spotted a white scarf hanging form a hook beside a giant mirror. Cautiously walking over to the scarf Mac picked it up. "It's Jack's scarf alright. He is, or at least was here."

Noticing the mirror he dug into his pocket and pulled out a match and lit it. Holding it up to the mirror Mac pressed his face against it to see if it was a two way mirror. Mac found a room behind it, but couldn't see if anyone was in it.

"Jack are you in there?!" Mac was yelling as he knocked on the wall to see if he could find a hidden door. Giving up, Mac took out his pocket knife and began to work on the frame of the mirror.

While working on the mirror Mac noticed something out of the corner of his eye turned around and to his surprise found Mudoc sitting behind a desk in the middle of the floor. "Took you long enough. I thought you were smarter then that, having to take out the mirror. I guess I overestimated you, MacGyver.”

"Where's Jack? This is between you and me Murdoc! Why involve my friends?" Mac yelled.

"What good is a treasure hunt if the treasure isn't worth searching for? I also like to see you squirm. By the way, you have twenty minutes to locate Jack."

"Why you!" Mac yelled racing towards Murdoc. As Mac advanced towards his enemy, Murdoc threw a ball at the floor. It exploded into a wall of smoke and Murdoc vanished.

After being stunned for a couple of seconds Mac found nothing at the desk and redirected his attention to the room which the mirror once covered. He could hear a tapping noise coming from within the room.

Trying to hone onto the tapping sound Mac entered the room. Starting with the walls he searched the room trying to find the location of the sound. The closer to the back of the room he got the louder the sound got. "Come on Jack, where are you?" Mac mumbled to himself. Is that you who is making the tapping noise? If it is pause and tap three times." He waited for a reply. The tapping did pause and then three taps followed. "Well, at least I know you're in the room. Jack, listen. Tap in Morse code. Tell me where you are."

The tapping continued and Mac translated what Jack was trying to say. Trying to keep in contact with Jack, Mac muttered the important things. "Cramped in a box. What box? I don't see no box."

Trying to figure out what Jack meant by a box Mac looked around the room and noticed a desk. He quickly ran to it. Examining it he noticed hinges at the back of it. By this time the tapping had stopped. Glancing at his watch he saw that he only had ten minutes left to save Jack. "Come on Jack, don't give up on me now! I know where you are. I'll get you out in a sec. Just hold on."

Moving to the front again Mac tried to lift the top of the desk off but it wouldn't budge. Grabbing his knife again he slid in into the crack of the desk and ran it around the desk a couple of times. Trying to open it a second time he found the top came off. Inside Jack was crouched and not moving. "Jack! Talk to me!" Mac cried dragging Jack out of the desk and laying him on the floor. Mac ungagged his mouth and untied his hands and feet.

Noticing a piece of paper pinned to Jack's jacket, Mac took it to read. "Dear MacGyver, I see you have found Jack. I really hope you have found him in time. If you haven't it's a shame, he was a good pilot. Murdoc. P.S the clock ticking for your next treasure."

As Mac was finishing the note, Jack began to come to. "Mac, is that really you? Thank God you are here. I don't know how long I would have lasted in there."

Mac helped Jack to his truck so he could clear his head and try to remember. On the way to the boathouse to try and figure out the next riddle, Jack filled Mac in on what happened. "Where do I start? We were all going to throw you a surprise party for your birthday. Mallory and Charlene came up with the idea. Everyone was at your place setting up when Murdoc cam smashing in, and in the midst of all the confusion he hustled us out back. The last thing I remember is being knocked out. Then I woke up in the desk you found me in.

Part two tomorrow.. smile.gif
