I have never seen the blue screen of death. Can someone screencap that for me, please?

huh.gif Noooo...

I NEVER want to see that again. I'm still trying to recover over 40,000 documents from the hard drive that crashed. All because I transfered a few vid files from one hard drive to another. (albiet, with about five other programs running.) And it HAD to be the one I keep my docs on.

I know, I know... back 'em up. I was going to, but with the move, unpacking and stuff I just plain forgot.

It never woulda' happened with a Mac.

It's like the old joke says:

Microsoft error message: "Your mouse has moved. Please reboot to effect this change."

Macs: less rebooting, more computing. (hey, that's kind of catchy)

Ah, the blue screen reminds me of the startup screen on my Commodore 64. biggrin.gif

Commodore 64? Wow! We had one... in the 80s.

We also had an Apple IIC, a Macintosh Plus, a Powerbook 180 (which I still have--and use; only needs a new battery) Power Mac 6200 (which my sister still has and uses) and last, bit not least, a Power Mac 8600. Then my husband got into building his own and I'm stuck with PCs. dry.gif

On the flip side, he builds and fixes them, so I save lots of $$$. Can't argue with that... smile.gif

Boy those where the days wheren't they.

I pretty much cut my teeth on a C64.. then moved onto a commodore Amiga 500 (the forerunner to todays Apple Macs)... but then I started working with computers and got dragged into the PC world. dry.gif

It has long not worked anymore, but I still keep it for obvious reasons. I'll have to see if I can dig it out of storage and take a pic or something.

I used my IIC up until 6 years ago. I kept it in the kitchen and had my recipe database on it. When we moved from Nevada to Florida, it mysteriously disappeared. But the PB 180 (with the BW screen) still works like a charm... I just need to find a place to buy a battery.

Do you know: The Macintosh Plus used in Star Trek: The Voyage Home is on display at Star Trek Exhibition at the Hilton Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada?

I think Mac should have used Mac computers. It would a been GREAT product placement! IMO of course... happy.gif

Cool!

When I first saw that scene, I thought, "No way it could compute that fast! It's a Mac!" ohmy.gif
