In the first season many episodes ended with a long shot or zooming out the frame. I didn't like the freeze always (for Kill Zone for instance, Runners, and Legend of the Holy Rose part 2) but in most episodes since the second it's usually a smiling face.
So we count only other peoples faces? Not on both faces?
Anyway, The Human Factor ended with a shot of Pete.
Twice Stung sort of zoomed in on the flying hat. I didn't like that zooming in and out making it look like a comedy or a cartoon.
Three for the Road had the couple and Mac and maybe also Pete in frame. Not sure of Pete though.
Partners had Mac, Pete and Jack just like in Brainwashed.
Ghost Ship ended with a shot on nature.
Blood Brothers last shot was the picture of our young boys and than fades out with the names of producers appearing on the screen.
The Outsiders had Mac, the mother, boy and girl on screen.
Black Rhino ended with ghostlike rhino on a black background.
Lesson in Evil indeed had Zito. What a cool ending, it was like he would come back some day.
Bitter Harvest has a final shot of MacGyver driving next to the bus with everybody cheering on him.
Faith Hope and Charity ended with a final shot on the grey wolf.
Don't really know about Trail of Tears if it ended with a shot of the place Standing Wolf was or with a shot of MacGyver and Whitecloud.
Split Decision on Dent and Ronny. And in this episode this bothers me very much. They just couldn't take a shot of Mac they had to have Dent and Ronny.
The Stringer ended with a shot of the street MacGyver lived in.
I think this is about it, there more with Mac and a guest star or Pete on the last shot. Of course I choose Mac's smile to finish an adventure or a shocked look or sad look to end the episodes with suspense.
In the third season I figured some episodes ended abruptly. Maybe sometimes too abrupt, like Fire and Ice. They got the diplomat and ending.
GX-1: Starkoss left, ending, leaving Mac knowing he would be alright and Nikki wondering why Starkoss suddenly left.

Blow Out and Thin Ice also ended a bit sudden.
The most noticeable change of last shots is in the sixth season. Maybe that had anything to do with the more social subjects in that season. How Humanity ended: 'At least in the end he discovered his own humanity. That's something, MacGyver.'
'That's a lot.'
Freeze, no nothing, no smile. Everybody understands it now.
The Gun: 'A thousand are down. Only a hundred million to go.'
Again no smile no nothing.
The Wall had a bit of an uneasy ending. The writer seemed like he was out of idea's for that last scene. *Great, great.* Of course it was for Mac not easy to be alone with Maria.
MacGyver's Women had like the strangest ending of them all, with Maria suddenly leaving while Mac changest his mind.
The Wasteland and There but for the Grace same thing, last line and splats immediate freeze.
Those are maybe few exception but it's very noticeable on those. No smile, it was just the message was given and everybody understanding the situations now.
 I think the poison that was used was applied to this knife, passed to the mutton when it was cut and then activated by the wine. - MacGyver.
Sometimes you just have to die a little inside to be reborn and rise again as a stronger and wiser version of you.
It's better to be a little sad than to be fake content.
