LOL -- yes, Rocky finally got the last part. The entrance to the main operations room on the eighth floor requires both a card key and a voice recognition protocol. Pete's office is at the far end of the ops centre.

Is it in there? I can only recall Every Time She Smiles and I do remember out of a discussion that in To Be A Man he was still injured. If it's from before Every Time She Smiles they sure made one hell of cover up, because I clearly remember him using his hands and they're being visible all the time. And I doubt it was after To Be A Man.

You know is it maybe Countdown, because that one starts bugging me and perhaps when he looked at his watch after they lost their equipment from the helicopter some sort of a cast was visible around his hand or something.

LOL -- go ahead and ask the next question, MGod. You got more components correct on the original question (about Pete's office and its attendant security) than either Rocky or Mac'sMyDad.

Then go back and watch the morgue scenes of "The Enemy Within". Those were the last scenes filmed by the first camera unit before they moved on to "Every Time She Smiles" -- and RDA's right hand was already in the cast at that time. They did a first-rate job of shooting around it, but you can catch an occasional glimpse, and it did affect the blocking (since he's right-handed). As you say, one hell of a good cover-up.

They wrote the injury in to "Every Time She Smiles" (although in a somewhat afterthoughty way), and integrated it into the plot of "To Be a Man" -- they had to use a hand double for some of the early scenes, which is why the character is shown wearing gloves during the missile retrieval, even when it becomes awkward. (Who would choose to manipulate controls while wearing gloves?) I suspect that the shoulder injury in "To Be a Man" would have been to the left side, if RDA hadn't had real damage on his right -- but as a result, we get some great off-hand work, including the one-handed knot-tying.

So for those two episodes, MacGyver had an injured right hand -- but in the last pick-up scenes filmed for "The Enemy Within", RDA was injured and MacGyver was not.
