Hello! I'm at the parent's house again to fill you in on what's happening with my computer. They said that they have to restore the hard drive, which means I might lose some of my stories that I didn't back up , but it could have been worse. The whole thing could have crashed the way my old one did--I couldn't even boot it up and had to buy a new one (the one that now has issues). After reading your comments in my previous post, I might have my I.T. friends at work look at it when I get it back in case anything else unusual happens. They are a lot more straightforward about technical problems than some of these stores, that's for sure. I now wish I had taken it to them first, but I didn't want to bother them at work. They told me I could bring it in and they would work on it after hours, though if I need it--they're so sweet. Anyway, I should have it back and operational soon--and I'm still alive. I had to take a break from my writing, not just because of the computer but also because right after my computer got sick, so did I--I had a major cold all last week. I'm feeling much better now, but it never ends sometimes...

I'm glad that my stories are still posted here and that fine, wonderful people like ghostdoll have them in their files so I can retrieve them. Last time, my old hard drive crashed and this site crashed at about the same time, and I lost all my old stories from then. You can always try to rewrite them, the way I did with Jungle Paradise, but sometimes, they're never the same.

Yes, unfortunately, I lost many of my files. All I have available now is what is posted on this forum and files of my latest story, When He Wakes. Such a shame... I'm back up again, though.

Have you ever thought archiving them at fanfiction.net. It's not too bad if you don't mind your formatting messing up sometimes. It's easy to replace Loth's fics (and 'Beth's!) even though I've been a baaaaad friend and haven't taken a gander at the fics in a looong time. But in my defence, I usually wait for Loth to finish hers. Gotta savor the long ones...

No worries from this direction that you've missed anything -- I can't write in enough of a straight line to even be able to start to post till I'm more or less done! I did manage to post the Opening Gambit to the current work-in-progress; I think you already had a chance to see that! Nothing more posted since then.

As to progress: about 3/4 done; currently clocking in at 30k words so far. (Good thing you like novella-length!) Not currently banging my head against any completely insoluble problem, but give it time. Currently actively writing parts of chapter 8 and figuring out potential problems in chapter 9 while researching the last half of chapter 7. I did mention non-linearity, right?

And Lothi kicked my butt soundly the last time I started to rip out my hair and denounce the whole thing as a piece of crap, so that oughta hold me for a while.

And Trtl, I think you have everything of MChick's that's currently posted in the library here.

Yeah, that sounds about right. I do want to eventually expand to fanfiction.net, but I've been busy (or is it lazy)? Besides that, despite being young I am not the most computer literate person out there. The partials you have are unfinished stories that I stopped working on because I didn't like them (sorry). You never know, though--at some point I might change my mind and return to them.
