Alright, here we go...

First thing I want to say is that while I have a passion for writing fanfic, I have never ever attempted to post anything before. Since I discovered fanfic, I have been tormented by plot bunnies, but never had the courage to let anyone read my work.

Right now, a particularly large and stubborn bunny has taken hold and I am writing a MacGyver crossover fic with Stargate. From what I have written so far, I know this will be a very long story.

What I would like to know is, would you be interested? If I posted the first part, which the setting is before Mac or Jack are born (it kinda sets the whole story up), would you read it?

Also, I have a habit of getting half way through a story and then running out of ideas. Would it be a better idea to wait until the story is finished, so I don't post half then stop, unable to complete it? Or should I post it as I write?

I thank eveyone for any suggestions that they have!

ScreamingBansheila,
I have the same problem. dry.gif
In my case, I am sticking to my story until it is done.
I have at least 4 plot bunnies before this stubborn one came along,
and they only have 1 chapter. blink.gif I can't seem to finish them.sad.gif
The one I am working on, I can see the finish, smile.gif but not the others.
Go figure. hmm.bmp

It is up to you. I love reading Mac fanfic as much as I love to write it. It keeps Mac alive in my heart.
I am sure your writing is just fine. Either way and what ever you decide, I look forward to read your Mac fanfic. biggrin.gif

Sairalinde,
who absolutely adores MacGyver:) and loves Richard Dean Anderson;)

I guess it depends...I would recommend going for it! Give it a try! We'll support you and give you constructive criticism, and if you need help or ideas, we'll be open to offering you suggestions. smile.gif

Bansheila, I second MacsChick's remarks -- and, if you're at all worried about ther corssover aspect, I'll personally add that I thnk that's cool.

As for getting stuck -- you won't be the only writer on this forum with a work-in-progress! I think I'm in a very small minority in not being able to post that way.

So go for it! The least that could happen would be that you'll get more practice and some feedback. Can't see any downside to that.
