I had a scary thought this afternoon.

What do you think if MacGyver and Murdoc were in opposite roles? MacGyver a HIT man and Murdoc working for the Phoenix Foundation?

I find it hard to see Mac as a killer though.

Now that would be a farce.

Jack taking everything from Murdoc's house just to get his attention. In Halloween Knights you can see the other side of Murdoc a bit. I think he would be a great good guy, probably with a good sense of humor but he's better as a bad guy.

Seeing Mac as killer might be tough but RDA has some tv-movies in which he played one.

I think Murdoc would do being exasperated at Jack pretty well!

But if Murdoc is good and MacGyver is bad, would the sidekicks also change alignment? Would we have evil Jack, Penny the spite-filled temptress and Dr. Zito and Deborah teaming up to make the world a better place

Would this also mean that MacGyver would start failing and Murdoc would keep beating him? Because if not then the world would be in serious trouble from a crazed MacGyver who can make bombs and death machines out of anything he finds laying around.

Probably and Pete's chairman of HIT. And with Mac failing they want Mac out of the way so they would kidnap his sister we/he never knew he had and Mac has to ask Murdoc for help rescuing his sister.

I think if Murdoc was the good guy, Halloween Knights must be a very strange episode.

What a fanfic this would make! It's like a parallel MacGyver universe, but everything turned upside down.

And Dr. Zito, even as a good guy, scares me.

But, yes, MacGyver would retain his skills of making nothing into something, which would make him possibly an even worse criminal than Murdoc.

I think something really bad must happen to him like a brainwash but the idea of someone having Mac under mind control, I think you really need to be loopy as a lune to do that. Call John Sheppard or Stephen Kandell. We need a script.

Aye, you'd need something more than the usual bang on the head to make Mac flip alignments like that...

What could do it, I wonder? We already know that threatening people he loves doesn't make him lose his moral rag, and threatening him certainly isn't going to work.

Hypnosis

I would think any kind of mental and/or emotional trauma left untreated would do it. Maybe had some kind of multiple-personality syndrome. Kinda like... he had something really bad happen, and to protect himself he creates a separate personality that is evil. The evil personality takes over... and there you have it! Evil, crazy psycho!

Would make for some interesting drama too if Murdoc were to try to help him or something.

Kidnap and a serious brainwash.

A mental or emotional trauma would just leave Mac depressed no doubt. No lust for life, maybe making him suicidal. Creating a protective personality that is evil, nah... he would just get to the bottom of it to solve the thing. That's how he is. Can't leave a puzzle alone.

I think we end up with a Trail To Doomsday MacGyver. Him being in it way over his head but he has to go through it to solve it.

I think evil Mac could only exist in a parallel universe; I can't think of a thing that would make him turn bad in the established one...
Same with Dr. Zito - I couldn't ever see him being good, whereas I think Murdoc may have had the potential to go either way.

Yeah, I agree... evil Mac would only have to be in a alternate universe. But, I think things would be seriously different. Actually when I think about it, if Mac was the bad guy, things would be a lot darker.

I like Murdoc because he's not very scary. Dangerous for sure, but he was a fun villain. After Albert Wesker, Murdoc is one of my top favorite villains. You just can't help but like him, for a bad guy. He didn't hate MacGyver, and his attempts to kill Mac wasn't personal. If anything, I think he liked and respected MacGyver. However, business is business. XD

Murdoc's definitely my favourite villain and yes, for him it is all business. I think if the Phoenix Foundation were to pay him to do a job, he'd work for the good guys with equal vim and vigour. They'd just have to be VERY SPECIFIC about how they wanted the job doing...

Mac and Murdoc are like Batman and the Joker. Whatever it is they're doing, that cat and mouse game is something they just have to do forever. It's like they're both halves of the same person and one can't live without the other. So Murdoc is Mac's evil side. So if evil persons what something evil to be done, Mac will say: I'll send Murdoc.

Before or after MacGyver has a nervous breakdown? lol

I loved Obsession just because Murdoc really got under Mac's skin. It would have been a fun story arc if they continued the series.

I wonder how Mac would get under Murdoc's skin? Put snakes in his bed? BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

I think that Mac could best get under Murdoc's skin by refusing to sink to his level. Constantly giving him a second chance and trying to bring out the best in Murdoc would drive him crazy
