I'm very tired of hearing how people should boycott the Olympics in Beijing. In my mind this is not about politics. It's about coming together as a world, and competing in sporting events. I know, I know that the air is bad in China but I'm so sick of people complaining about those things. We have become a weak minded society, and we can't even get over our own political views enough to enjoy a come together in a sporting event. I've been to China and I know it's not the best country to be in, but for a short historical time we should make the best of the situation.

Hey- in a nice nod to MacGyver fans (okay, I'm sure that had nothing to do with it- LOL) - the 2010 Winter Olympics are to be held in Vancouver, Canada! (http://www.vancouver2010.com/en) And I love all of the Olympics- Summer and Winter Games. It's all about teams from countries all over the world coming together in a spirit of fellowship and peace and competing for the love of the game and for the love of their country. And I think it's a great event that's not only like Heaven for sports fans, but it is a great way of spreading unity, respecting each other's differences and promoting goodwill. Anyway, that's what it's supposed to be about. And I'm pretty much a fan of most all sports and I love to see them all included! That's way cool that BMX is now included- skateboarding should definitely be in there. Tony Hawk, Bam Margera, Bob Burnquist (he'd probably be skating for Brazil, of course ), Ryan Sheckler, Steve Caballero, Rodney Mullen, Lance Mountain, Jamie Thomas and so many others deserve a chance to represent their countries in skateboarding. That would be great. I mean, I know there's the X Games and those are incredible too- but I still would love to see skateboarding an official Olympics sport. Pun somewhat intended, but it pretty much is the gold standard for sports. Glad to hear the USA basketball team won their game against China. That was the big one everyone was talking about. But I don't think the US team should brush off any other country's b-ball team- basketball is technically an American sport (yes, I know a Canadian invented it, but he was in Michigan at the time and it was for the school there he was working for) but it has certainly grown in popularity around the world and there lots of countries around the world that are good at it and getting better as time goes by. I also think it's funny that ESPN commentators refer to sports like table tennis and racquetball and such as "minor sports" so America in particular isn't too worried about them. (Yeah- that's 'cause we pretty much stink at them.) Sure they may not be the events that will make or break the whole Olympics- but those are great sports too- and hey, whatever country you're from, it should make every effort to be the best in everything. (Or at least do their best in everything- that's important. Trying your best- winning isn't really the most important thing.) Anyway yeah- I'm enjoying the Olympics. It's too bad you have to wait 4 years to see it again. And hey- gotta say it- may the best team win.
