We'd all like to meet Richard Dean Anderson someday. How would you like to meet him? Where? When? What would you say?

I'd pull up to him stranded on the side of the road. His car would be broken down for an unknown reason to him. "Need some help?" I'd ask, truly wanting the answer to be yes.

"Sure, I could use a hand," he'd answer. I'd step out, grab my groceries, and pull out an egg. I'd crack it and pour the insides into the brake fluid tank. I'd slam the trunk, nod like I'd finished the task, and tap the hood in success. "Thanks! If there's anything I could-"

"Do the movie," I'd interrupt as I sped off into the sunset.

Ok The True MacGyver. I think I going to love this thread. I like where you went with it. I would love to meet RDA.

The way I see it for me would be on a movie set. I have worked on a movie set a few years ago when a prodution company came to my small neck of the woods. The movie had Collin Ferrel in it. It was his first movie. I even got to meet him.

Anyway RDA loves the role of Legend the best. He could do a movie about Legend.
The town I live has one of the oldest trains in Amercia. The movie people come here all of the time to film movies. The last one was The Great Debaters with Denzel Washington.I did not get to meet him,but my dad did. He works for the railroad. The company that owns the train.

Anyway it would go something like this.

I get hired to work on the set.Maybe work as a PA or assist the set Medic. It's the first day on the set. RDA is there he is the one in charge of the prodution. It's his movie. "The Return of Nicodemus Legend" i'm standing there being nervous tring hard not to stare at him. My face has the biggest grin on my face and then it happens. He has been speaking for about 20 min on how he is glab to be shooting the movie in a wonderfol small town and that the cast and crew are thankful that the people of the comunity have been great and that all of the railroad employees have been most patient and helpful.Of course I can't stop thinking of how this is a awsome moment in my life and in deep thought. He then asks a question to all of us on the set that day. The prodution crew is mainly whom he is taking to. He says "hey anyone working on the set today a local town folk " i'm standing there thinking raise your hand stupid. I do and I notice that there are only a few of the towns people on the crew as well . He thens says I need someone to be my liason or personal PA.I will need some to due some research for me on the railroad ,the train,and the history of the the town.

I need some who has lived here all of there life. I think it will add to the story of Nicodemus Legend. Of course i'm about to passout at this monent due to the fact that I could be the one to have that job.But I wait to see if any of the outher people of the crew step up. Then I hear a voice come out od the cround and say Rick there Is only one person here on the set today that I know for the town. The man that is talking is Mike Greenburg. Ricks busness partner and co-producer on the movie. I remember Mr Greenburg from the casting call from a few weeks ago.I met him and got a job on the set as a PA.

Mr.Greenburg ponits over to me and looks over at RDA. I look like a deer in headlights at this point.I'm thinking to myself how the hell did he know that. Then Mike and RDA walk over to me.I am really statrting to feel weak in the knees at this moment.
Mike looks at me and says Hi I remember you from a fews ago when you came to the casting call but I don't remember your name.
I'm still trying to make sure that I'm not about to pass out or say anything stupid. I say yes sir I remember meeting you to .I'm Sheila. I stick out my hand and shake it.He reintrodues himself and intro. RDA. I'm sur if you have ever watched MacGyver or Stargate than you know who this guy is here.I turn to look at RDA and stick out my hand to his to shake it and keeping in mind not to say anything that will embersses the crap out of myself.
Yes sir MR. Anderson I know who you are.I have been a fan of MacGyver for a very long time.It is my faverite tv show of all time and I just have became a fan of Stargate. RDA then smiles at me and shakes my hand and ask me some questions. "So Sheila may I call you Sheila. I say yes. I'm not one for formaites.I'm thinking to myself now did I relaly just say that. Wow. So Mike here says you have lived here your whole life? Yes Sir I have. He then get annoyed and says ok you can stop with the sir stuff. Just call ne Rick ok. Of course what were that first words out of my mouth were.Yes sir. Sorry. I'm just kinda nervous.He says Hey It ok don't be.So I take a deep breath and and answer his question.
Yes Rick I have lived in this town my whole life,In fact my family has lived here since the town was founded.In the early 1800's.
I noticed his eyes got big a dnner plates. I also go into telling them both a little history about the town. Feeling more comfertable with them I start to tell them about how the town was a know for railroad and that my family worked on the railraod for 3 generations. I could tell that at this point I had them.They both were listing with everyword I said. I also told them that my dad was keeping the railroad tradition alive and that he worked on the train.
The next think that Rick says to me is when can you start. I looked at him and said rightnow. He and Mlie looked at each outher and smiled. Rick says to him well that was easy. This woman seems to know her history. I say yes I guess I do know a lot about history. It is my hobby. I love it and the research you need I can get it with no problem. All I have to do is to go to my dads house and get it.I think she can handle the job. At this point i'm really about to pass out and fall over on the ground. Did that just really happend. Do I really get to work with RDA.I'm thinking to myself.
As we start to break off our meeting and Rick and Mike are about to leave I speak up and say Rick ,Mike if you need any info on the history of the train itself and all of the workings on it , I can intoduce to a my dad who thought all about history.
Rick turns and looks at me and said ok.I would very much like to meet your dad.

The meetings ends and we head off into differant dirctions. I was told by one of Rick's other producers to meet Rick and Mike at a producer meeting in about in hour.


For the reat of the day and the reat of my life I will never forget the day I got to work with RDA.



OK guys ... It could happend. Hey I am living proof that dreams do come turn.
I got to work on a movie set with Collin Ferrall for cryin out loud.

Oh to meet RDA... *faints, THUD* Wha-? Who me? Faint? Never!
Personally, I'd like for someone who already met him before introduce us *nudges Aussie*.

Lol, seriously though, I'd just love to meet the guy PERIOD, without my knees knocking together.

I'm TRYING to talk my boss into letting me have the weekend off for DragonCon. My best friend already agreed to go with me if I can get it off... most likely not, at this rate. =P We're too understaffed.

However, my best friend wants to meet Richard Dean Anderson as well. She not only goes to conventions on a regular basis, but she's used to meeting actors and such. She also cosplays, so I'm hoping if we go we can go in costume (not sure as what though). He seems like such a nice guy, that probably once I meet him, I'll be fine... I hope. My best friend will keep me grounded... and keep me from chickening out. XD

I can't think of a better way in meeting RDA though. I think it would be a great and fun experience. If I can't make it this year, I want to go next year.

Oh I really really hope you get off time so you can go, Jediferret! That'd be such an awesome experience. =D I'm over here rootin' for ya!

Dawww... Thanks you guys. Sadly, it doesn't look good. Even if I get it off, the hotels are all booked already. It's okay though. There will be other times, and other conventions.

Here's hoping everyone else get to meet him at least once in their lives though.
