What are your thoughts on the Dexter character? Was it over the top? Silly? Or just plain fun?

It seems like RDA had fun doing it.. was it good or bad for the series?

Like him. He's one of the tropes that I'm trying not to think about too much. I found him quirky and interesting the first few iterations.

Yeah it was a changeup too for Richard Dean Anderson, something different to play with.

I found them silly fun and a change in between some of the more earnest episodes. Though at that time, TV shows with 22 episodes still had time to do that in between some filler episodes. Maybe even cater to some of the talents and interests of the lead or guest stars.

Now with streaming shows of 6 to 8 episodes per season, they would take up too much time from advancing the story forward and establish the characters. I don't think they would work anymore.
