I doubt it. It's guns blazing away lately. It's think fast, act fast in intense periods of time. But I can imagine Michael Scofield doing MacGyverisms. Kinda lost track of Prison Break though. He had his paperbirds all around the prison for reminders which I can see Mac use as well.
I think the poison that was used was applied to this knife, passed to the mutton when it was cut and then activated by the wine. - MacGyver. You mean using them regularly as part of the show?
Burn Notice
Jail Break
the original CSI... Gill Grisom has MacGyver like qualities. Actually the whole CSI franchise uses them regularly don't they?
House (on occasion... using a medication for something it wasn't intended for, or using a medical implement to make do etc)
Lost? - can't say I've ever really watched or liked this show, but they're stuck on an Island so that very situation would require some "making do with what you have" moments. Necessity is the mother of all MacGyverisms after all.
On CSI where the new member comes in. He figures out that cornmeal was used with a metal disk to set off an explontion. And on Miami they used whatever the could to lift figherprints when Calleigh was sick. But I know other shows out there from today and from eras gone by have used MacGyverisms. Just how many of them still do.
The name of the show is "Prison Break", and yeah, lots of uses in there.
As for "Lost", I don't remember many from there, apart from making tents out of the remnants of the plane and such. They soon stumbled about a place which had all necessary things for surviving - how convient!

If I remember quite well, Sayid is the one who can fix things. I remember him welding stuff with things laying around and made a radio work.

i don't think there's any. I've heard someone in another show's forum talking about 'Burn Notice' is the modern MacGyver?? I doubt that too. All I know is, the lead actor tried to talk like MacGyver.
I've seen a few times in the 'The Unit' tried to make homemade bombs, flashbang with gun powder, smoke grenade -heroin version, escape from a SERE practice holding cell with salty water, battery, wire, etc., salvage a crashed chopper with a folded knife (a radio with antenna, stretcher made from a seat, metal tube to boil water, and one guy was using a Leatherman multi-tool one time.) I'm a big fan of that show so.. ahh CBS is in the process of killing it if you know what i'm talking about.

I tried to watch Burn Notice, didn't like the gun action too much, and ended up watching a MacGyver episode Halloween Knights. Maybe I'll try Burn Notice again sometime.

finally got a chance to watch the Burn Notice pilot. Umm..I've to say I don't really like spy that does his work in Miami even though he's being watched. I've seen the lead actor (forgot his name) modifying devices, preparing battle ground. Really, nothing like MacGyver taking out his SAK and everything. I just don't dig the theme about a spy that does those minor works for CLIENTS.
I'd been Miami before. People don't really dress like what we see on the Ocean Drive and couple other places. it's greatly exaggerated. In other words, too much unnecessary bikini scenes.

The one I think of right off is CSI:New York. There's a great eppy in which one of the characters (Danny, for those of you who have seen it) gets trapped inside a "saferoom" with a dead body. The room can't be opened for a certain number of hours. Danny's colleague, Stella, calls the locksmith who built the room, and he can drill a door, but that will take a minimum number of hours as well. Danny has left his crime scene kit outside the room, so Stella tells him how to start processing the scene using the things he can find in the room. At one point, Danny says.
"Oh, Miss MacGyver! It's working!"
LOL.

I saw that episode. There was one on CSI where Grissom had to get things from a hardware store to process a crime scene. It was with the decpated body in the pit. Could never watch it again, made me sick to my stomach.

Yep, finally caught a Burn Notice. Not only does he use MacGyverisms but he voice overs and explains as he does. Although there a bit more on the common sense-ism side if you ask me.

I don't watch it regularly, but hubby was watching Eleventh Hour a coupla weeks ago and in the scene I caught the main characters were trapped in an industrial fridge thing (I think) and had to escape. I think the woman actually shot the lock out, which doesn't qualify, but in the preceding conversation they were discussing how to get out and the guy said something about not being MacGyver. LOL..I doubt the show belongs on our list, but I thought using the name counted for something, anyway...

"Another day, a whole 'nother set of fresh possibilities. I'm a sucker for mornings." MacGyver
I tried again to watch Burn Notice, computer wasn't cooperating. I guess I'll try again in the next upcoming days. Isn't it funny how many shows, pay tribute to MacGyver?

Yecch. I didn't see that. I gave up on the original CSI a long time ago. It got too dark and creepy and gross for my taste. The Miami and New York versions lighten things up a little.

It is the only episode of the original CSI that I can't rewatch. The yucky thing about it was I had a bad cold, and was trying to eat cream of chicken soup. Ended up throwing most of that away, and eating only crackers.
Anybody catch CSI New York last night. Mac Taylor (Gary Sinise) used lipstick to get the prints of a murdered man and put them on the barf bag, and sent them to the lab to be analyzed.

No, I think you're right about the spelling. Gary is an awesome actor and a great man. It's cool to see him use a MacGyverism on the show! Oh, and his character's name is Mac? That works!
