I was asked how many times MacGyver was actually in the hospital and for what. I lost count and I don't have enough time to watch all 139 episodes to find out. So anyone else have an answer? MacG.gif

Well let's make a list: I am counting the ones where we see Mac in the hospital---

Times in the hospital:

The Negotiator (when Deborah blew up he boat and blinded Mac while trying to turn Mac into fish food)

Passages (when Mac fell from several stories up onto the top of car and was in a coma and nearly died)

"For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus."

1 Timothy 2:5 NIV version of the Bible

If you count up his injuries... not with all injuries he went to hospital but first aid was enough. We only saw him two times really laying in the hospital and The Negotiator and Passages are the exact proof of that. But we've got:

- two poisonings (Nightmares and The Walking Dead), antidote was sufficient in Nightmares in The Walking Dead he went to the hospital and returned as mentioned in the last scene.

- gunshot in To Be A Man (shoulder wound, first aid seemed enough and burning the wound, try to find a decent hospital in Afghanistan)

- D.O.A. MacGyver (plus falling through window causing a major cut and probably grazing wound too; resulting in amnesia)

- Back From The Dead (probably hospital)

- Cease Fire (first aid + hospital probably)

- Serenity (dreaming though, life safed thanks to good old sak.gif

- Humanity (first aid and ambulance)

- Trail of Tears (first aid)

- Good Knight MacGyver part 2 (after bonk on head, first aid, resulting in awaking from a long dream)

- The Stringer (gunshot probably grazing and breaking the arm while falling, hospital most likely)

- burning wounds (The Negotiator, Blind Faith) hospital and ambulance (Pete was in for the ride so I think they also went to the hospital for Blind Faith)

- Cut wound in The Widowmaker (first aid)

- Cut wound in Cleo Rocks on his hand (first aid)

- Cut wound in The Ten Percent Solution (nothing worth worrying about)

- Wolf trap in Faith, Hope and Charity (first aid)

- Rocket launch in Stricktly Business (major open wound covering half of his face in blood resulting in amnesia again)

- bonk on the head in Golden Triangle, Nightmares, Cease Fire, The Ten Percent Solution (twice), Two Times Trouble with a wrench by a wench tongue.gif, The Wasteland during a fight against four construction workers with a billiart cue, Good Knight MacGyver part 1, Gunz 'N Boyz.

- Coma after fall from building as stated above in Passages, his closest call to death.

I think that about sums it up. About 28 injuries. I think season 6 has the highest rate of injuries, twice shot, wolf trap, rocket launcher and burning wounds.

I think the poison that was used was applied to this knife, passed to the mutton when it was cut and then activated by the wine. - MacGyver.

Hey I thought of one that doesn't really count I don't think, but what about the time he was buried by the avalance. I know he probably received some after care for that (hypothermia). Even though it was Pete who broke both legs. hmm.bmp

Yes it is. Alright maybe not all the times like in The Wish Child for instance.

I don't know. Mac sure can take a hit or two. Getting used to it after a while, I think.

I think he said the broken arm was something while skiing in that area and while he was in that territory they send him to get the microfilm. If I remember correct.

There was the head injury and shoulder/arm injury in The Outsiders. When the jeep blew the tire, and he jumped out. "My jeep went off a cliff, I died and woke up at Thanksgiving." ohmy.gif

Cauterization is still used today. Althought hopefully not like it was Into Be a Man. But you go back to the wild west that is how a lot of gun shot wounds were treated. He's really lucky nothing nasty set in that wound. But that is what the burning of the fire place poker does, sterializes it. Sorry I repeated myself.

I figured he has titanium in his body. I'm more worried about the head injuries. Maybe the Terminator loaned him some of his body amour. What do you think?

That's funny. I kind thought that Christian Bale would make a good MacGyver. His head would have to have something in it.
