I picked it up while I was out this morning - eight pages!

His house is huge - the living rooom alone is a 1000sq ft! (93sq meters).

There are pics of the front (with his dogs artfully arranged on the porch), a kind of side porch looking out at the pool pavilion (as they call it), a shot of the whole back of the house from his pool (again with the dogs), a shot of the living room looking out back, his bedroom, his bathroom and a pic of him (with the dogs, of course).

it's big and rambling, with ceder siding, a corrugated zinc roof and a covered porch along the whole back of the house and wrapping around one side. A lot of wood and stone and windows, so you can see the ocean on the horizon (you can tell he's not right on the beach.).

I really like the outside areas, but there is more exposed wood inside than I care for. But it is a pretty warm honey cinnamon, and the fabrics are mostly neutral beiges and earth tones - not too dark, not very light. Nothing gaudy or over-the top. I prefer more color, but the furniture is big and solid and looks very comfy - kind of like the man himself LOL

And the article said he likes to play hockey in the living room LOL.

He talks about how he would sit on his old back porch and plan what he would do if he built a new house. He wanted rustic and casual, and he got it.

I love his house, very countryside, with a lot of woods, I like woods.

I can see he has lost some weight, guessing he is taking up exercises again. Still sexy and gorgeous.

Yeah you gotta wonder about building a house with that much wood in a fire prone area like Malibu.

He said at Gatecon that he once was laying in bed when part of the ceiling fell onto his face. So he thought, a little renovating was due. And then he got carried away a bit and ended up taking down the whole house - his own words

What a lovely place to raise his daughter. I love the wood beams of the house. All of California is fire prone. California is in the ring of fire. But I digress.

Where I grew up in Colorado (the foothills) is also dangerously prone to fires, but everyone builds with wood and logs. I guess it's more a matter of personal taste than taking into consideration the potential hazards and risks involved. I know that probably isn't the best thing to do, but it's better than everyone having the same drab, boring brick house or something. Not that brick or stone is bad--I'm just saying it's nice that not everything is uniform and dull. I think Rick's house is lovely, warm, and reflects his personality well. It's also unique for its area, which was probably one of the reasons it was featured in the magazine. Most houses you see in California (at least in wealthy neighborhoods like Malibu) seem to all look the same--white castles of stucco and tile roofing. Rick's house isn't like that, and I'm glad.

I guess it's his home away from home. Seriously imagine how happy he really is, A beautiful daughter and his dream home. In other words RDA's cloud 9.

I think it should not be only fire-proof but also earth-quake-proof. Are there any regulations about that in California? We also have earth quake areas in Germany, and when you want to build there you have to match a lot of standards.

Love his house between cabin and old west which is so cool, I also see he lost weight glad he did, being over weight would give him alot of Health problems.

Can you say WOW!!! I love his hous very cool. It reminds me of the houses I see on the lakes here in Texas. I think he did a very good job on his house.

RDA uses a MAC COMPUTER! ahh the irony.

to be honest, it seems very cluttered.

Like he's filled up all the space with furniture and/or ornaments. Makes it seem very cramped.

I like clean open spaces, not ornaments in every possible place. I'm not sure I could handle that much wood either. Might just be the hue and coloring of the photos though, or maybe the fact that everything seems to be in the same kind of tone as the wood.

Lordy, those are gorgeous! I like the look--in some ways, it reminds me of a larger version of his houseboat in MacGyver--surrounded by wood, lots of gee-gaws strewn about. Wylie's room is very tastefully done.

A very nice house! My idea of a house for my future and it's in a country outdoor setting! WOW!

He looks almost TOO skinny in those photos-- kind of like a frail old man. I definitely think that was touched up, because on his website, he kind of looks a bit like Meat Loaf (the singer, not the food.)

The house is nice, though I agree with Rocky-- too cluttered. And why would one person need a house THAT big? Jeez, it would just get annoying having that much space! (I have a hard enough time remembering where I left my keys in a one bedroom apartment! lol.)
