Chapter 8

As the plane went up in the air Mac closed his eyes to think.
“ When will this ever end? Damn you Murdoc, why you can’t leave me alone? Friends or family doesn’t matter to you, it’s me you want. All I have to do is walk by someone and to you they are fair game for your twisted mind games.”
He heard Jack telling Sam about some of their adventures. When he heard Sam let out a laugh it was like a wake up call.
“What was I thinking? Why did I allow Sam to talk me into coming along? As soon as we touch down I will get him into a safe house. I will not let Murdoc hurt him in any way shape or form, or anyone else I know or love . This time it ends…..one of us is going to die, and I really don’t intend it to be me!!!!!!!!!!”
Mac turned and looked at Sam who had fallen asleep.
“ I just found you. He won’t take you away from me. I will find you Murdoc and I will get Pete back that you can count on.” With that MacGyver turned back to look out the window.
“ MacGyver, MacGyver are you missing something? Or should I say someone? I have everyone you care for.” Mac looked around and saw that Murdoc had; Sam , Pete , Jack, Penny, Kate, Harry and his Mom ,Dad and Grandmother, tied up with a bomb set to go off.
“ You are next.”
“ No I will not let you hurt them. This ends now, just you and me. Let them go they aren’t a part of this.”
“ Oh but they are. I thought you knew me better than anyone?”
“ Mac save us.”
MacGyver turned around and saw faces and faces .
“Yes MacGyver save them all if you can. Or better yet watch them die one by one.”
“I’ll star with this one and I will end with you.”
MacGyver turned back around dreading to see who Murdoc had picked.
“ Daddy please help me Daddy please I am scared.”
Mac saw a child standing next to Murdoc.
“ No-o-o Murdoc you can’t do this . Not now , I just found him . No not him Murdoc , he’s my son .Don’t hurt him!!!!!!
“ Dad wake up . I’m here and I am alright. It’s ok now I am safe.”
Mac opened his eyes , wondering if it was still a dream. A tear rolled slowly down his face. Sam also had a tear falling.
“ Dad I am here safe with you. My God what has this Murdoc done to you?”
Sam reached out and hugged his Dad tightly. He had only known this man in front of him for a few short months.The more he learned from watching him the more he grew to respect and admire him. He had wished now more than ever his mom had told him about his dad sooner. He wished that she was still alive and they were a “normal family” without the monsters or nightmares from their past to haunt them. Sam felt his father start to pull away.
“ Try not to worry too much Dad. We will get Mr. Thornton alive and end this Murdoc’s reign of terror for good.”
“ No as soon as we land, you are going to a safe house until this thing is over. Murdoc is not going to get his hands on you.!”
“ I am coming with you ! Nothing you can say and nothing Murdoc can do will stop me. Besides you need me, two heads are way better than one demented one.”
Mac couldn’t help but laugh and then thought that having him near by so he could keep an eye on him.
“Buckle up people we are about to………” Bang- Thump!!!!
“ Jamie I thought you fixed the engine! Come on tell me you bought the new part???”
“ Well I did buy the part and it is new to us!!!!! Ok so it was used but it did look like it was in good condition…..”
“ What did you with the money I gave you?”
“ Well there was this sure thing and I……I thought I could double the money.”
“ Jamie Donovan……….”
MacGyver chuckled to himself. Well she may not be Jack’s daughter, but it looked like Jack was getting a taste of his own medicine. Having someone just like him and all the other clichés that would fit the situation. Only Mac was wishing that he wasn’t on the plane right now.

Andria puts down the phone.
“ Their plane should be landing in 30 minutes . That is if it holds together that long.”
“ What do you mean” if it holds together long enough” ?”
“ Well once I found out who and where , I had someone fix it so the plane would brake. “
“ How did you get close to the plane?”
Andria chuckled “ I didn’t have to, you see I presented a “sure thing” bait and they took it.”
“ So look to the sky for the fire works.”

A.J. opened her eyes and look around. Where was she? Who was that fake Dr. and what did he want with her? A.J. heard noise behind her.
“ A.J. are you alright?”
“ Mr. Thornton, how are you? I am fine , a little headache. Where are we ? Do you know why I am here?”
“ Yes Peter do tell. Answer the lady’s questions.”
Pete and A.J. looked towards the door. Murdoc walks in with Andria behind him.
“ Welcome my dear. Mi Casa is Su Casa. Mr Thornton the lady asked you a question.”
“ A.J. this is Murdoc.”
“ Hey don’t forget me.” Andria said in her super sweet voice.
“ Well , well isn’t it the “she bear” herself. Did you get the job?”
“ Look who we have here, the Girl Scout herself No I didn’t. But I did get a better job offer.” Andria walked over to AJ and hit her hard enough to knock her over.
“ I owed you for that. I’m going to like having you here as a pratice dummy.”
“ Now Andria you can play with your new playmate later. Right now we need to finish setting up. We don’t have time to indulge ourselves .”
With that Murdoc turns to walk out. He stops as if to say something and walks towards Pete . He swings and hits Pete.
“ Well maybe just this once. Come on let’s go.”
Aj waits until the door closes to ask Pete “ Mr. Thornton, do you know what’s going on here?”
“ Under the circumstance, Call me Pete. I think you are here because of you stopped Andria and of your last name. Murdoc must think you are related to Mac. He will use anyone to get to Mac.”
“ But I am not related, at least I don’t think I am. At least not by last name.”
“ But MacGyver is not a common name AJ.”
“ It is my step-father’s last name. He adopted me after he married my mom. So you see I am a “ MacGyver” in name only.”
“ Sorry but that will be of little consequnce to Murdoc. He will still use you as a pawn in his sick game.”
“ Yes I guess he would. At least that is what I gathered from what Nikki told me. But I still don’t understand how I could be used to get to MacGyver, he doesn’t even know me.”
“ That is Mac for you. It wouldn’t matter if you were family , friend or someone unknown, he would save you because you were an innocent bystander. Mac is that kind of guy. One who puts his life on the line for another human being just because it is the right thing to do.”
“ Sounds like someone I would like to get to know. So Mr. Thorn……Pete what do you say we find a way out of here and help MacGyver? By the way what is his first name?”
Pete chuckled” I think I will let him tell you that when you meet. Now how about getting out of here. What would Mac use?”


Chapter 9
----------------

“ Okay compadre’s! thank you for flying Dalton Airways.”
“ Don’t you mean D & D airways?”
“ Yes of course. But I am reconsidering after that flight.”
Everyone’s heads turn as they heard a car drive up. When the dark hair driver got out all eyes were on her.
“ Hello I am Andy. Nikki Carpenter sent me to make sure you made it safe. This was the only car gased and ready to go.”
“ Hi I am Sam and you can drive me any where.”
“ My aren’t you a handsome bloke. Maybe that can be arranged.” Andy said as she drew a line down Sam’s face.
“ Do I detect an accent? Southern Welsh maybe?”
“ Impressive, brains too. Wow you are quite the package aren’t you love.”
“ Okay is the mutal admiration society done with their first meeting?” Mac chuckled.
“ Hello I am MacGyver and this is my son Sam. Please to meet you.”
“ Nice to finally meet you Mr. MacGyver. Ms carpenter has information on Murdoc's current where abouts. I will fill you in on the way. Did you have a nice flight?”
“ Aw flying Dalton, I mean D&D airways is always an adventure. Right Mac?”
“ Yeah an adventure for sure. Never a dull moment and always full of surprises.”
Everyone with the exception of Andy laughed at that.
“ If I don’t get you gents going it will be my job.”
Mac picked up the backpacks, handed Sam his and turned to talk to Jack and Jamie.
“ Jack , Jamie are you ready to go?”
“ No we are going to check out the plane. Something isn’t right. I mean the problem with the plane wasn’t just because I used a “used” part.”
“ Jamie is right.Something about that flight isn’t flying right with me either. You guys go ahead . We will catch up later.”
“ Let’s get going Pete is in trouble and he needs our help.”
“ Why don’t you gents relax in the back seat. And like they say “leave the driving to me”.
Reluctantly both Sam and MacGyver got in the back seat.
“ Wait til I get a hold of Nikki . This is all they had ready ! She knows riding in something like this makes me feel uncomfortable.Come on was this really necessary?”
“ Now Dad , for all you did for the Foundation you deserve to ride in style.”
As Andy got behind the wheel she echoed Sam’s comment with her own twist of things.
“ Yes sir you deserve everything that is coming to you.”
“ Excuse me, what was that you said?”
“ I am going to put up the partition now. Oh and Murdoc sends his regards.”Leaving a stunned look on their faces Andria pushed a second button as soon as the glass was up. Soon a gas filled the back seat and MacGyver and Sam try to get out .
Andria laughed as she told the sleeping travelers
“ Get some rest gents you’re going to need it.” She picked up her cell phone and dialed .
“ Hello, I got good news and bad news. The bad news is the plane landed . The good news is the packages are all wrapped up and being delivered as we speak. Jack and his co pilot are staying back to work on the plane. That should keep them busy for a while. I should be back in a few minutes .... why? My dear Murdoc you are sounding like a ………..father.”

Nikki was deep in thought when a knock came at the door.
“ Come in.”
“ You got to see this Nikki.” Willis said as he was trying to catch his breath.
“ Come on out with it I haven’t got all day. Sorry I am running on pure nerves now.”
“ I understand I really do. With Mr. Thornton being kidnapped right from under our noses by Murdoc of all people too. But I just got this report in and let’s just say you got to read this.!!”
“ Willis don’t keep me in suspense.”
“ Oh right. Well it is about Andria Monroe. The lab just sent the results back and as soon as I saw it I knew you would want to see it.”
“ Willis !!!!!!! Wait why was there a lab test done in the first place?”
Willis figetted alittle before going on.
“ Well it all started when I read an article on the subject of DNA testng. I wanted to test the theory. So when they brought in the gum Miss Monroe was chewing in the files room I borrowed it and……..”
“ Willis if you don’t get to the point …”
“Wait you can’t just barge in there. Ms Carpenter is in a meeting.”
Nikki looks up to see Jack and Jamie walking through the door. Nikki and Jack said at the same time.
“ You are here where is Mac? Sam?”
“ Jack where is MacGyver? I thought he was with you . You did fly him in right?”
“ You sent a car and driver to pick him and Sam up, didn’t you Nikki?”
“ What driver? I didn’t send a driver.I got a call from your assistant and she told me you had some problem with the plane and all of you would be in ASAP.”
While they were talking Jamie noticed the file on the desk. She pointed to the photo attached to the folder.
“ This is the driver.”
“ Are you sure? Nikki asked.
“ Her name is Andria Monroe and she is working with Murdoc.”
Nikki put her hand to her head.

Just then the phone rings and Nikki slowly picks it up fearing that it is Murdoc calling to gloat.
“ Yes Helen? No she went to a Dr.’s appointment. Did you try her at my apartment? When did they call? Why wasn’t it patch through? Okay from now on any phone calls, letters or emails are to be sent directly to my office I mean Pete’s office. Thank you Helen.”
“ That was Pete’s secretary Helen. A Dr. at the hospital called to find out why AJ missed her appointment. The guard at my apartment said she hadn’t shown up there yet.
“ Oh my God, Murdoc has them all, Pete MacGyver and Sam and now AJ.”
“ Excuse me Nikki but who is AJ?” Jack asked.
Nikki couldn’t help herself but laugh at his question.
“ AJ just might be related to MacGyver.”
“ Related are you sure ? Why would you think that?”
“ AJ’s last name is MacGyver. And to how or if she is related we don’t know.”
It was Nikki’s turn to look at the file on the desk.
“ I guess relatively speaking, relatives are coming out of the woodwork.”
“ You can say that again Ms. Carpenter.”
“ Willis you go back and find out the last information we have on where Murdoc might be. Oh and see if you can find out if anyone is missing a limo.”
“ Nikki is there anything we can do to help?”
“ No Jack I am afraid this is Phoenix Business.”
“ Look Nikki Mac is my friend too you know.”
“ Not to mention that cute son of his.”
Just then Nikki really noticed Jamie. Before she had a chance to ask, Jamie came up to Nikki and introduced herself.
“ Hi I am Jamie Donovan, Jack’s partner, at your service. And about tracking them it shouldn’t be that much of a problem.”
All eyes were on Jamie.
“ What did I say?”
“ And just how do you think we are going to do that Ms Donovan? Do you have some psychic powers or something?”
“ Well no I don’t have those kind of powers. But I am a spy buff you might say. One of the “ sure things “ I bought was a small tracking system. It is small enough to fit anywhere on your target. So when I hugged Sam before he left I put the tracker on him.”
“ How did you know they were goin to take him, I mean them?”
“ I didn’t .” Jamie said with a grin “ I just wanted to see if I got my money’s worth.”
“ Alright partner. Way to go! Speaking of going shouldn’t we get going and kick some butt?”
“ Sorry Jack , as I told you before this is Phoenix business. I can’t let you go.”
“ Sorry boss lady like my partner said we are coming along. Besides it is my toy that will point the way . I hope!!”
Nikki shook her head and pointed to the door.
“ Let’s go kick some buttt.”

This needs to be published. I would read the entire book. This is wonderful. Please continue to add to it. I don't know what else to say. But the chapters I did read are fantastic.
