Is it me, or are those prices extravagant?

It's not just you. While the daily rate isn't hideous, it's still way more than what you would pay for most cons. Even "expensive" Creation cons here in the States only run about 60-80 USD per day, with weekend passes anywhere from 200-500 USD, usually.

Dragon*Con is 50-100 USD (depending on when you buy your ticket - earlier is cheaper) for all four days. Thus why it is now my con of choice.

The question I would have here, though, is what do those prices include? Obviously the upper two include a lot more, but even for the lower one, I would have to check on whether it includes any autographs, etc, before making a final determination on whether it's crazy expensive or not. (The upper two are no matter what.)

the web site at the top says what the various tickets include, but the VIP and Platinum include front row seats, priority in waiting queues, a photo with 4 of the stars, stuff like that.

oh.. and a pass to some special evening function.

To me it seems like a hell of a lot of money for not a hell of a lot.
