And who just might be the Mythbusters? I know Ghostbusters but Mythbusters?
I think the poison that was used was applied to this knife, passed to the mutton when it was cut and then activated by the wine. - MacGyver. Sometimes you just have to die a little inside to be reborn and rise again as a stronger and wiser version of you. It's better to be a little sad than to be fake content.

MacGyver would win- DUH!
The Mythbusters have been known to build some gadgets from time to time, I suppose- but mainly it's for the purpose of proving or disproving a scientific myth. Also, take into account that they have a lot more time and resources available to use. MacGyver comes up with stuff on the spot with whatever's handy usually in a short amount of time for the purposes of saving lives and defeating criminals.
Just imagine what he could do with MORE time and resources!!!

Thats a good point.
They also tend to go with very elaborate schemes that require a special equipment etc, so I'm sure they could actually do a real MacGyverism with just whatever was in the room.

Here I go again: what’s the full scenario? What are the parameters of the challenge?
Mac is likely to be as interested in “mythbusting” as the MythBusters, after all – especially if the myth to be busted is a pseudoscientific fallacy, a potentially dangerous urban legend, or a hoax, especially if it’s been dressed up in supernatural assumptions.
Here’s one approach that might be plausible: Mac agrees to a gadget-building showdown in aid of charity. He and the MythBusters are both given a specific problem and turned loose in equally equipped rooms where neither can see the other’s progress.
Now it gets interesting.
We’ll assume that the problem they’ve been given is the same problem, and that it has a solution that can be accomplished with the materials at hand, although the solution may not be obvious and the materials may not seem to be sufficient or appropriate.
Next question: are the rooms properly and fully equipped with specific tools and materials needed, or are they under-equipped? If it’s the latter, Mac wins hands down. If it’s the former, it will depend on whether numbers count, since at that point it would turn into a contest between a team and a solo operator.
Another wrinkle might be simply to present both sides with the problem, and require them to identify the solution and ask for needed materials. In that set-up, I think Mac would win again, because he’s used to thinking on his feet in situations where speed counts.
In any case, I think he’d have a lot of fun with the challenge, and he’d probably go off afterwards with the MythBusters, hang out and talk shop.

I vote MacGyver too. For the reasons others have mentioned about the speed and his ability to work with whatever is just lying around. MacGyver would come up with the MacGyverisms and the Mythbusters would be busy trying to test if they would really work. They would test it under all sorts of conditions and while they are over analysing MacGyver would have completed the challenge and be ready for the next one.

I have Tory and Grant on my MySpace friends, and their pretty nice . I asked Grant once if they ever thought of doing a show about MacGyver, like would the things he does ever work. He said that they would have loved to, but Paramont (or whoever it was) wouldnt let them. Actually, heres what he said;
Hi Angie,
We've always wanted to do Macgyver myths, but they won't sell us the rights. I did recently see Richard Dean Anderson do an awesome Macgyver-inspired Mastercard commercial. It had me LOL.
Cheers, Grant
.... I would *love* it if they *did* do a MacGyver episode.... I wonder if they ever would let them.
and after watching their MacGyver special I still think MacGyver would win, but it might depend on the parameters of the contest.
For example, would they be given a room full of stuff and told to make something to do a specific task, or solve a specific problem? or would the be told what to make and then just have to find the stuff to make it?
In some instances the Mythbusters might outdo MacGyver because they are more practiced at making things or using certain tools etc because they're doing it every week. As the old saying goes practice makes perfect, so they may be able to make stuff quicker than MacGyver.

I'm sticking by my original answers, but I'm all the more certain now that they'd all have a great time doing it.
I wonder what made Paramount change their minds about permitting the episode? Did they regard it as an promotional boost for DVD sales? Enhanced buzz in hopes of getting a movie project out of the dead zone? Or maybe they were waiting to find out if Mythbusters would be a strong enough venue in itself.
