It was a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, i think.

The Jeep driven by MacGyver is a 1987 or 1988 Wrangler YJ type.

Yes I believe it was an 87 or 88 which is when they started making the Wrangler instead of the CJ. Which means Mac had a brand new Jeep (mostly) but it seems to be painted to look like it has been around for awhile. I also notice in various episodes that the steering wheel looks worn out too.
