Mac and Indy end up looking for the treasure of a lost Myian City. Mac is working for the Phoneix Foundation. Indy is well, working for himself, and the accoulades that would come with getting there first. The trip is filled with bugs, snakes, and traps. Who would get to the Myian City first and how would they accomplish this? Would it be a fair finish? What do you think would happen and how would this work as a movie?

I'd go with MacGyver just because I like him more than Indy. Though I do like Indy, Mac would accomplish it faster and better due to MacGyverisms and the such.

i think MacGyver would get there first, his tools of the trade will be in his camping gear and he is carrying stuff lightly, he would find stuff on the way to help him get past the snakes and spiders. and also he lives off the land.

Indy would more then likely bring his whip, a large knife he would frezze every time he sees a snake in front of him, he hates snakes and can't stand being around them, he would more then likely get the local people to try to help him but as his trip goes along he would be lossing people to big snakes, tigers, and ect or just the fear alone of going into the scared place.

Great idea! I picked Mac, but I'll have to think about this one.

Indy would easily win.

While Mac would be trying to thwart anyone who got in his way with convoluted tricks and traps, Indy would simply shoot them and move on. Much quicker that way. And Indy has more useful knowledge for this sort of thing-- he can read and understand ancient languages, whereas Mac would need somebody along to help him. Indy is a professor of archeology with an understanding of what he's getting himself into. Mac isn't. And Mac would probably get sidetracked trying to help some kid reunite with his parents or something hokey like that, whereas Indy wouldn't give a damn about playing charity worker, and would simply continue on his mission.
The snakes might cause a problem for Indy, but he'd deal with it. He got through the Well Of Souls just as well as Mac would have done (hell, Mac basically stole Indy's idea when he helped Murdoc get past the snakes! But, as usual, Mac was overly concerned with being nice and not killing the snakes, whereas Indy didn't care and just did what he needed to do to get the ark.)

Indy is a professor at archeology. Mac is mostly self-taught as he said himself in The Eye of Osiris and has interest in many other more scientific subjects. And I do think Indy gives a damn about charity and kids or else he wouldn't have taken Short Round under his wings in The Temple of Doom or he wouldn't have helped the slave children and the poor village. Though being the darkest film of the four, it has proven that Indy cares about his fellow human beings. Besides I don't think Indy was actually out on killing this snakes. I think he was more out on keeping the snakes at a distance with fire while making a way to the Well of the Souls and the entrance high above.

No doubt Indy would beat Mac on archeological knowledge in matters of reading and understanding ancient languages.

Good points about Indy helping Short Round and the slave children-- I forgot about that when I wrote my post. Generally speaking, though, Indy seems to be a bit more of rogue than Mac (which is probably why I slightly prefer Indy), and Indy seems to have fewer qualms about doing what needs to be done to get where he wants to be, so that would give him an advantage.

> Besides I don't think Indy was actually out on killing this snakes. I think he was more out on keeping the snakes at a distance <<

Very true, I agree. But my point was just that he didn't care if they got killed. Maybe Mac didn't either, but overall, Mac is more soft-hearted than Indy is, and so he'd be more likely to worry about what gets hurt along the way. Heck, isn't Mac a vegetarian? He can't be killing snakes! lol. (then again, he DID eat that lizard in The Gauntlet.... hmmm....)
