Just spotted a brief mention in this article about how the first TV show Michael Shanks ever saw being filmed was MacGyver.

Yep, I've heard Mr. Shanks share this story when I would meet him at the Stargate conventions. He mentioned that he and a friend went down to the beach and there they saw MacGyver being filmed. The fact that it was on the beach leads me to believe that it was a first season episode. Thoughts?

I think the poison that was used was applied to this knife, passed to the mutton when it was cut and then activated by the wine. - MacGyver. But I'm thinking it would either be the scene in Easy Target when MacGyver chased the bad guy down to the beach or Lisa getting drunk in Twenty Questions.
Because the thing I dont' quite get is that according to his own web site he studied Business and then Fine Arts at the University of British Columbia.
So my question is how did he get from Vancouver down to LA to watch the Golden Triangle beach scene during a break from trying out for a play?
She's an absolute RD and SG nutter therefor she knows.
Don't ask me the full details. You would have to check with her for those... But when I was over to her place, SG1, SGA and SGU were shown practically on end on Living TV there. And of course, we had been talking about RDA a lot and SG, and so this subject came up.

I agree Rocky. Every time he's told the story he says it was during lunch or something so I figured it was during the Vancouver seasons.
