Have you read the news section about Lee Zlutoff trying to have the MacGruber movie stopped?

I wouldn't think he would be doing that if the movie was canceled, so my guess is that it isn't and my hope is that it's taking so long because Lee Zlutoff wants to make sure he gets it right.

To answer your question about whether we find MacGruber funny: in my case, not any more. The joke wore thin for me after about ninety seconds. Now I just cringe.

I found MacGruber funny at first. The joke got old after the second skit. And really, how can you base an entire movie off a joke that got old fast? Though, that tends to be SNL's thing.

I found MacGruber funny for the first five seconds and after that it just got old for me. I'm hopeing the MacGyver will still have a go in 2011, but we will have to see.

Which may be why movies that bomb at the box office is another venerable SNL tradition. Ya think?

IMDB Pro also shows the movie in developement now in the productive hands of the De Laurentis family. New Line Cinema is listed as Distributor and Martha and Raffaela DL's as Producers. Samuel J. Brown is listed as Executive Producer. This must mean that should an acceptable script be found the project can move forward. Although questionable let's hope they would have the sense to maintain Randy Edelman's main theme and perhaps allow him to do the full score. I hope to star in the film. Of course the chances of that is about the same as Publishers Clearing House Prize Patrol Wagon showing up at my house later this afternoon.
