This version of David Bowies "Space oddity" song was recored by Astronaut Chris Hadfield in the International Space Station literally a few days ago just prior to his returning back to Earth.

Even David Bowie has given it his blessing saying it's the most poignant version of the song ever recorded.

He's living the dream!!!!

As a fellow Canadian growing up in 60s & 70s - the space race was being pushed first and foremost in the educational system and we, the impressionable students, were being enticed and encouraged to enter into the sciences and engineering .... because you never know 'how far' it might take you.

Commander Hadfield has also mentioned several times that he was a big Star Trek fan and that it definitely played an influence in his eventual career choices.

He got to chat with William Shatner while in orbit

William is one of his millions of twitter followers too.
