Each year the company I work for gives all it's employees a present. This years one was the best ever.

And one for a size comparison beside my Tinker SAK.
user posted image

As you can see it's quite large and also came with a nylon carry pouch for your belt.

it has 11 blades, which include pliers, scissors, normal small screw driver can and bottle opener blades; a file, small Philips screw driver, wood saw.

It's all stainless steel and looks and feels pretty solid. There's no indication of where it was made, although I do have to say it doesn't have quite the same precise engineering as a SAK has. But it'll get used in my hiking pack as well as the fanny pack I take on bike rides.

Holy monkey, that knife is HUGE. No pocket carrying for that one. SwissChamp SAKs pose the same problem - goofy lookin bump in your pocket, pants hanging sideways. tongue.gif

I got a nifty little battery powered LED drop light. Thought it looked sketchy at first, but it's well made and has a magnet & little hook on the back. Should be handy.

And that's it. Nobody liked me this year. smile.gif

Hmmm... lessee... I got a snuggly-warm new house robe (fire-engine red with leopard-print coffee cups printed on it), a small hi-powered flashlight, wacky new kitteh toys, home made chocolates, an inherited espresso machine (Thanks, Beth!!), a set of LOTR Movie companion books, a couple of DVDs, and money.

Excellent booty this year! biggrin.gif

I still got myself some late Christmas gifts from my mother. All kitchen stuff though. Like a cookbook and a scale. An egg timer and two cups of tea.

Let's see if I can remember most of what I got:

-About 20 novels
-A blanket for my new bed
-Stargate SG-1 Season 4 on DVD
-Season 1 of "24" (never saw it yet, believe it or not)
-Two new games for my Xbox 360
-Spice rack
-Fleece sweater
-About 6 new ties
-Shirts for the office
-Placemats for my dining table
-Two CDs from a band I like
-A cookbook
-A whole bunch of food
-New curtains for my living room
-Drapes for my bedroom
-Plants
-A whole bunch of toiletries (body wash, razors, etc.)
-A leather bomber jacket
-A windbreaker jacket
-A check for $400

Can't remember what else. A few other things, but it's all a blur right now.

Maybe Miasma, but not me. The Mac light? That's all I got. biggrin.gif

Miasma got more there then I've gotten in a decade of christmases combined, probably longer. I don't care though, my family isn't into that stuff. Christmas in my family just consist of gathering together and eating food prepared by people who don't know how to cook. smile.gif

Well when it comes right down to it, it doesn't really matter what we get for Christmas, it's the observance of tradition and custom which is the important thing. Christmas is a tradition in western society which is in threat of extinction from the politically correct establishment. Already many countries have had "Marry Christmas" replaced with "Happy Holidays" under the guise of political correctness, so we all need to hang on to our Christmas traditions, no matter what they entail.

That being said, this thread is about what we got for Christmas, so...carry on. laugh.gif

Already many countries have had "Marry Christmas" replaced with "Happy Holidays" under the guise of political correctness, so we all need to hang on to our Christmas traditions, no matter what they entail.

"Merry Christmas" has not been replaced by "Happy Holidays." The point in saying "Happy Holidays" is because you don't necessarily know what holiday the other person celebrates. If you KNOW they celebrate Christmas, than wish that person a "Merry Christmas," no big deal. If you know they celebrate something else, than wish them a happy whatever they celebrate. But if you don't know what they celebrate, then say "happy holidays."
The other reason people say "happy holidays" is because they're referring to both Christmas AND New Years.

Anyway, I always felt "Merry Christmas" was a stupid expression. Who actually says "Merry" for anything anymore? It's really antiquated. Why not "Have a good Christmas" or "Happy Christmas"?

Because "Merry Christmas" is what Santa Claus says and is part of the tradition of Christmas.

That's my very point. Christmas is being lost as we try to accommodate everyone's feelings etc.

By the way.. what other holiday is there to celebrate at Christmas?
