No disrespect intended towards the administrator,but I feel that his answer to this particular question was a very vague generalization and therefore,not really factually accurate,in my opinion.

To recap;the administrator's statement reads;"Henry Winker recalls being so impressed with by this simple,human act,that they cast him right on the spot."

According to RDA's recollection,Henry Winkler was looking for a unpretentious,humble & down to earth person to play the MacGyver role.

Due to RDA's self consciousness,as a result of being in the presence of Henry Winkler and coupled with the fact that RDA was fumbling around for his glasses...Henry Winkler got the impression from RDA,that he was a very humble man and therefore,Mr.Winkler felt that RDA was perfect for the role.
