Sorry it doesn't work for me. But then I actually like the theme as it was.

To be honest your track doesn't actually sound like theme music. It's more like incidental music.

Remember though that MacGyver wasn't a serious mystery,danger,intrigue,foreign espionage & adventure of a secret agent-themed show... it was very much a fun family adventure show, which was reflected in the theme...in fact he was only a "secret agent" in the first season after that he was with the foundation.

But as you say.. to each his own.. and my opinion is but one

Wouldn't work as a theme, but maybe more during an escape or chase scene.
