Ok so you don't actually have a "save the day" kit, it's just stuff you use every day.
The Day Save kit is more about stuff you have
in case you need it, or for emergencies.
I usually have my hiking survival pack in the trunk of the car, which contains a wide rang of stuff such as first aid kit, emergency blanket, flashlight, fire lighting tools, duct tape,
large Swiss army styled knife packets of soup, hand sanitizer, tooth brush travel kit, compass, fishing kit, bright red plastic bags, plus some other bits and peices. It all fits into a large fanny pack which I carry with me when hiking, but the rest of the time sits in the trunk of my car... just in case.
I have to admit I have used paper clips, duct tape, band aids and head-ache tablets from it on a number of occasions, so it is quite useful.
