Done it. 10 out of 10. Except the last question has the wrong episode mentioned. It's supposed to be Lesson in Evil.
I think the poison that was used was applied to this knife, passed to the mutton when it was cut and then activated by the wine. - MacGyver. Sometimes you just have to die a little inside to be reborn and rise again as a stronger and wiser version of you. It's better to be a little sad than to be fake content.
Actually, kidding aside, I am seriously thinking of trading my DVDs in to Amazon. The episodes are freely available online anyway. So for those rare occasions when I want to rewatch an episode, I can do so there. Not much point in taking up shelf space with stacks of DVDs for a show I've already watched several times. For the most part, I'm more interested in watching newer shows these days. I finally got around to watching the first season of "24" this month (okay, so it's not exactly "new", but at least it's new to me, and newer than MacGyver!)

Ok maybe you have a point but still... in my opinion, no show compares to Mac Gyver...
I consider my Mac Gyver DVD collection as extremely valuable. As a kid, I learnt so much from that show, which make me the person I am today. It's true they are available online, however, for example, you can watch it on CBS only if you live in a certain geographical area.
So from my point of view, I prefer to have a readily available DVD to watch when I feel like rather than either using a proxy server and wait for buffering and advertisements.
The 80s were a great time, I consider myself lucky to have been a kid during those times and so by watching a Mac Gyver DVD on my TV set, I feel like going back in time...
Yep. I wouldn't trade my MacGyver DVD's in either. To me they offer a versatility which you don't have with online material. Also I'm not in the US so I can't watch them online anyway.
I'm the opposite to Miasma. I think TV shows are getting worse and I prefer not to watch them.

Depends on what you're watching. There is some crap out there today, but there was plenty of crap in the 80s, too. But I'd say the really good shows of recent years are definitely higher quality than the really good shows of the 80s. Anyway, sorry for getting off-topic. Back to the quiz!

I have to agree I think todays television is getting worse. I only watch a few newer shows like mythbusters, billy the exterminator, wrestling, and ghost hunters. Everything else I watch is mainly Knight Rider, Macgyver or older 80s-90s movies like trucks, maximum overdrive, any naked guns, back 2 the future.
i got 9/10 right forgetting what mixture he came up with to be able to read the burnt paper in log jam
Now technically I'm driving a stolen car following a kidnapping... and I didn't even get to have my first cup of coffee. (Mac) Your burning hot MacGyver... And so is Pete! ! (Murdoc) Does anyone have a knife?? Yes...it has lots of different blades (Macgyver music plays while mac examines the knief) ...I know Why are you taking your pants off?? You got a better idea? I'm still trying to figure out what yours is!!

I could never get rid of my MacGyver DVDs...apart from the fact that I have them less than 6 months and haven't watched all the episodes yet...lol...also it's pure escapism from real life...and something to watch when there is nothing good on TV...which is most of the time now

I never trade them away, just like when I taped them. But I'm thinking of copying the videotapes to make some footage save from destruction, like the original opening of the Pilot, the missing scenes from the Pilot and Thief of Budapest, not to mention the altered season 4 and 5 opening credits. Quality is not great anymore but it's the fact that counts.
Maybe than I may consider of throwing the tapes away. But they will be replaced by the DVD's and of course no matter how small the chance is they get a Blu-Ray dvd release, I wouldn't throw my original dvd's away either.
TV nowadays is alright but shows like 24 and Lost are over so they belong to the past now still there are plenty of good shows, passed shows also. So actually I think it's now waiting for new shows to arrive. Another good recent TV-show for me is The Shield.
But nothing beats the 80's or 90's movies or shows.

I got 9/10 right-which I can live with & actually,I'm proud of....considering that I missed like 98% of the show back in the 80's. In fact,I only recognized one episode when I watched all of the seasons I recently bought on DVD. It's really odd that none of the questions pertained to season 2-as if there were,I would have missed more questions, because I have yet to buy season 2.
I think that it's a bad move on any MacGyver fan's behalf,to trade or sell the DVD's,because there is no guarantee that MacGyver will be available online in one's lifetime. Sorry, but I think using limited shelf space as an excuse is pretty lame(especially since the wire-metal,wall mountable DVD holders are compact enough to accommodate just about anyone's space constraints.
It's also my opinion, that a true MacGyver fan is an avid collector of any MacGyver-related material and as such, would never even dream of parting with their DVD collection.
Something else to consider also,is that DVD's are more or less, eternal(or at least will survive our lifetime and the next generation to come. That being said, why not hold on to the DVD's to hand them down to your kids or other relatives?
Maybe I am being too extreme for some folks, but I'm 42 and the older I get,the more I cherish what I have and I don't think much of anything is trivial,as I don't take anything for granted anymore.
Like many folks here,MacGyver is a wonderful escape from reality and at my age,I appreciate MacGyver more now, than I ever did before. I haven't always been so good about holding on to keepsakes in the past,as I moved around a lot & have been distracted by my busy life(as it were).....but now that I'm settled down,I realize now how important it is to hold on to one's collections, because you never know how much you might regret discarding something that may be irreplaceable in the future. One never knows what may become out of print & off of the market forever. If by some chance MacGyver is unavailable online at some point & the DVD series is discontinued, just think how expensive the MacGyver DVD's will become,if you have to resort to buying the DVD's from a private seller via Amazon.com....not a very pretty thought,is it?
Sometimes little things mean a lot and MacGyver is my saving grace,as it's one of those little things in life that keep me sane. I need to be reminded of the past in order to cherish as I should and this show is one of the many little ways in which I accomplish this.
I too,am not very fond of modern day TV and even though I recognize that there are some good shows here and there currently,I will always be partial to TV shows of the 70's & 80's....not just because of my emotional & nostalgic attachment to them, but also because of how unique they were...during a time when TV was not polluted with sh*t reality shows.
