Something I was thinking about today. When Ricky stole the baseball cards from Frank Colton he gets caught by Mac and Mama Colton. So when Mac goes off to the Battersbox Mama Colton says she's going to call the kid's parents and talk about what happened. Later we find out that for 'every single card he stole, he's gotta read some kind of book'.

Don't you think it was a bit harsh to punish the kid for something he actually didn't want to do? The kid didn't had much of choice now, did he? It was either that or getting beat up by someone who was like ten years older than him. What would you do?

Alright, reading a book for a stolen card doesn't sound too bad for a punishment. If you stole like a whole collection with 50 cards or 100 cards, you've got to read that same amount of books than. By the time you've done that you could be like a year later than.

I think the best thing the kid could do, he did in the scene and was apologizing to Mrs. Colton.

The punishment in itself seems very reasonable but not justified in my opinion.

If you know that your kid was forced into doing something that could have big consequences would you still punish him?

Ricky did commit a crime though: he broke into someone's house (a place where he's not supposed be) and stealing (something that is not his).

Just wondering, what would you do?

I think the poison that was used was applied to this knife, passed to the mutton when it was cut and then activated by the wine. - MacGyver.
Sometimes you just have to die a little inside to be reborn and rise again as a stronger and wiser version of you.
It's better to be a little sad than to be fake content.
