I know this is a little early, but in about 4 years we will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of MacGyver. I was thinking that it would be really cool if either Victorinox or Wenger decided to produce a commemorative special edition MacGyver SAK for the occasion. What do you think of this idea?
Also, if such a knife were produced, what do you think it should look like and what tools would it have?

maybe if the combined the most commonly used tools from the show into one knife and have the name MacGyver embosed in gold on it. Like the 100th episode knife had.

I'm thinking this would probbaly make it a 3 layer.

Maybe they could also look at combining the most commonly used knife type throughout the show too.

Wow, I didn't know they had a 100th episode SAK. Pretty cool.
Anyways, it would probably look a little like that, except it would be for public sale obviously, and it would be a real SAK. They could even make 3 different sizes of it too instead of just one. And all three would be available in a set as well as individually.
In the case of having three knives, there would probably be a single layer 58mm containing the basics (knife, screwdriver, etc.), a 91mm version of his most used knife, and a 91mm containing every tool used on the show. Another way to go would be to just have a set of all the separate knives he used on the show, but then you would have both Victorinox and Wenger products in there, and that could get complicated. I really like the idea of the knife containing every tool used though.

Or how about season sets.

you could go with each knife used in that season, or all the tools used in that season or even a combo of the knives used.

Wenger and Victorinox wouldn't really be a problem as Wenger is owned by Victorinox anyway.

I actually think it would be pretty kewl if they combined the most used tools from the whole show and called the knife "MacGyver" or "The MacGyver" or something and had it as part of their inventory of knife models.

I believe when I tried to find the least common denominator it was the Victorinox Mountaineer. If I were packaging a "MacGyver SAK set", it would be one of these three:

1) Tinker/Spartan/Executive

2) Mountaineer/Tinker/Executive

3) Fieldmaster/Picknicker/Executive

Or maybe do it by season, the first fo instance would be Tinker/Executive together. With Victorinox owning Wenger now, maybe they could throw in the Wenger Traveler for the first season
