The first is because, I think he says that in Birthday. I think Mac likes to take everything to the max every day.

And second because he's involved in practically everything that needs caring. The environmental and endangered species programme, kids in trouble...

I've always thought "Do what you can with whatever you have, where ever you are" was always pretty MacGyverish.

To define Mac's outlook on life, I usually refer to three of his own quotes:
'Everything's personal'; 'We're all in this together'; and 'I cannot keep away.'
Together those three make the quintessential MacGyver and the way he defines his place in this world � at least to me.
