I watch MacGyver every evening from one finnish TV channel and I noticed one thing. In 'Thief Of Budapest' episode Mac is going to bar looking for Rhina and in that scene Mac says to bar's door man something like that ''Is the happyhour parties over''. This scene was only in Television version, but we're not see this in DVD version. In other episodes I also saw little missing scenes what I've never saw. But Why these deleted scenes are only in TV versions?

The Pilot episode also has been cut on the dvd's. They used the actual opening theme with an explosion that occured in it's episode and cut the Pentagon scene. And the scene in front of the bar from Thief of Budapest was also cut.

Really? I remember well the different explosion on the opening credits of THE PILOT but I didn't notice that is replaced in the DVD version.

I have just checked it: my DVD still have the old version of opening theme with the explosion taken from the episode.

For the missing scene of Thief of Budapest I don't know, unfortunately I don't remember that scene in old italian version.

They show the lab explosion with the MacGyver logo on it. Instead of remaining with the original opening from the Pilot which is that the opening credits happen while you see the parachute land and the MacGyver logo was blue with white lines over the letters.

As I said once, in my country ,THE PILOT episode was broadcasted only one time ( I don't know why) and only after many years it was broadcasted again on tv!
I don't remember if in the first version ( that I saw, of course ) is the version you are talking about but I have a recording of THE PILOT in VHS when It was broadcasted for the second time in Italy. I go to check it out...

Here's the opening credits MacGyverGod is referring too. As you can see it's completely different from the normal opening credits. As far as we can work out, this version wasn't used in the US version of the pilot.

but I thought Mag Gyver God was talking about another kind of beginning.

Now it's all clear.

The 'Target MacGyver' episode came from TV and the scene where Harry and Mac making the traps in ghost town, so then came the scene where Axminster and the other dumbs walked in the wilderness but this scene isn't in DVD version.

Now this is getting really, really interesting.

Im not sure why I never looked too much to this thing, but it seems there are some variations between broadcasted episode and released episode on dvd.

I thought the only cut on R2 dvd was the few scenes in Thief Of Budapest.
I never really cared too much as the whole episode ain't that special for me atleast.
Its actually one of the worst in the few first seasons. The whole that has footage from Italian Job-movie is just too camp today and maybe it really worked when I saw it in my childhood.

I havent checked any of these latest reruns on Finnish tv as I have seen the series couple times already (like during the very first run, was it fall 1985 or something) and got the Complete Series boxset on dvd, but it surely seems like missed idea if there are more cuts during the series.
