So I'm finally getting around to trying my hand at fanfic again. I'm currently working on a fic sort of along the lines of Bitter Harvest, except it centers on a union organizer who gets murdered in the course of his work, trying to help security officers organize. I draw a lot on my own experience for it, as I've worked in security for 12 years, and have seen two union campaigns, one of which is still ongoing. My original character, Stacey, plays a fairly big part in it. And of course, Mac and Pete will both be in it. It'll be awhile before I'm done, but I'll post it when I'm happy with it.

BTW, I wasn't sure where to post this. Feel free to move it if need be.

Cool. Looking forward to it. It's been waaaaay to long for me since I got to writing. I haven't written anything since I moved into my appartment. When The World Changes is still my last completed story and I haven't gotten further in Children of the United Nations. While I still have plans for further stories. It's just the fact of having no time, real life issues, house hold. Still I hope to write again someday. An ultimate version of my first story and new ones too. Just as you MacGirl I want to involve in my next story my own characters.

I have idea's and bits and pieces for stories now I just want to be able to write them out.

Like I said before, I welcome anybody who can revive the fanfiction thread on this site. It used to be a fun place, with some really good stories. So go for it, MacGirl. And MacGyverGod, too. And any other writer, for that matter.
The only thing I am wary of is the creation of original characters that take the lead in the story. I have read MacGyver stories with hardly any Mac in it. That doesn't make any sense to me.

Well, some of my stories do have my own character in a more or less central role, but I do keep Mac as a very major character. The stories wouldn't be the same without him.

In almost 90% of my stories, Mac is the main lead of the adventure. Okay, so you need moments without the main character like when you have a scene where the bad guys set out their plans. But I always figured the writing as this. Mac is the central character all the others are the guest stars.
