Like any true MacGyver fan my ring tone on my phone plays the MacGyver theme, but I'm surprised at people getting it wrong. I've had a couple of people call it the Greatest American Hero theme. I resist the (rather strong) urge to beat them senseless and just politely correct them that's it's the theme to MacGyver. But I wonder how many other here have encountered this same thing?

Who else has had their MacGyver ring tone mistaken for something?

I wish this ring tone was available for other brands of phones, too. I have just a super-basic Nokia, and would love to get a Mac ring tone!

Do keep in mind, though, that the show was (and still is) something of a cult hit: never a big blockbuster, like the CSI shows. It would take another fan to recognize the theme.

Yeah, I'd love to have it on my iPhone, too. Does anybody here know how to do that?

I have the Mac's ring tone from many years.
I took the original opening theme from DVD with DVD ripper ( or similar) , I converted the video file in mp3 audio file and I put it on the memoty card of my phone.

And all those years you never thought of sharing?!

But you can download the soundtracks in this site and put it on the phone, it's more simple.

Secondly Iphones don't allow you to select ringtones from your play lists like other phones do. They have to use a special file from the ringtone list.

I have the theme on my phone and everyone knows what it is, probably because everyone knows I am utterly obsessed with the show, they don't need to ask me!

I didn't want to offend anyone.

When I found this site I had already my ring tone of Mac.

Before of this I had a midi version from a friend.

My first ringtone was on a Nokia 5100 phone which I downloaded from my mobile supplier. From there I moved on to phones which allow mp3s to be used.
