Very happy today... it's not just the MacGyver anniversary but tonight the Philippine national football team won its first international football title in 99 years after winning the final match of the Philippine Football Peace Cup in Manila. I changed my Facebook cover and profile picture to.... MacGyver!!!!   The seasons 1 and 2 theme tunes are what I'm playing now. They've saved into my media player.  +  +  +  =  Long Live Richard Dean Anderson! HOOOAH (Cue MacGyver Theme)
MacGyver is truly my way of life... Stargate is my future.. indeed.

I went smoking, drinking and shooting, while yelling, "YOU FAILED, MacGyver!!! YOU TAUGHT ME NOTHING!! NOTHING!!!!!!" Then my neighbors called the police and I had to stop.
After that, I wrote to Mythbusters and asked them to do a Murdoc-themed episode to test if it's really possibe to survive all the "deaths" that Murdoc experienced. They said they'll start working on it right away, and Michael Des Barres agreed to be their guinea pig.
(Okay, so I'm a liar, I didn't do any of that. Though, I think the Murdoc-themed episode of Mythbusters would be kind of fun to see.)

I do feel some nostalgia for this date now & after recently revisiting the series.
But, then again, I just love this time of year - period. It's the return to school, hockey is starting up again, the fall schedule for all TV series is gearing up (infact a double season premiere of ' The Big Bang Theory' aired tonight), the autumn foliage is entering peak color, there's a nip in the air that wasn't there a few weeks ago, fall festivals, Thanksgiving and Halloween is just around the corner. The build up, synergy is really exciting and energizing .... and then that all hallowed date of September 29th.
A quick google suggests that September 29th, 1985 was a Sunday - as is this year - which makes the 28th anniversary - extra special. So, I'm stoked for this weekend and at exactly 9pm on Sunday where I will insert the season 1, disk 1, press play, and watch the Pilot on it's original date and in it's original time slot!
