I'm working on the new site pages for the comic and just read the description for issue 3 of the comic which talks about an old nemesis of MacGyver returning for his bounty!

When I read the description, I kinda thought the same thing, but wondered if they had the rights to Murdoc for the comic. So, I'm kinda just riding out the whole thing and not getting my hopes up. =(

I'm certainly *hoping* for the same thing--but since the story for this comic must have been finished quite a while ago, and Zlotoff just recently said he didn't have the rights, I'm still doubtful.

It's a different context, I know, but they did refer to Cornwell as Mac's "old professor" too, although we've never seen him before...

Just that I think there might be a possibility that the writers are using the "old" prefix in a liberal sense of the word. But we'll just have to wait and see, I guess...

No, not Murdoc. Murdoc was so embarrassed after driving his jeep off the cliff that he retired and now lives in a small community in Florida. Or in Italy where he probably sits around reading the paper and eating bonbons all day.

But seriously, let's pretend we didn't see that episode, shall we? Terrible note for Murdoc to go out on, so I hope he shows up again in some form, if nothing more than to receive a decent death. Errr.... non-death death.... ending.... falling off of something..... ok, a sceaming "MACGYVERRRRRRRRR!!!" scene.

I so hope it's Murdoc. I'd be willing to forgo every other part of the MacGyver universe (as painful as it would be not to have Pete Thornton and Jack Dalton) just to have that guy back. The perfect yin to MacGyver's yang.

What is it they don't have the rights to, anyway? I thought they only had the right to things in the pilot episode, but clearly that's not the case since they used the Phoenix Foundation.

Just realized--I was looking at that cover from issue #4 again, and the shadows of the bad guys hovering over MacGyver. None of *them* look like Murdoc anyway... but who knows, there might be other villains involved as well...

Supposedly, the bounty brings all Mac's enemies out of the woodwork -- and there has to be someone behind the whole thing, who won't be revealed until the final issue (or, possibly, the final panel of the penultimate issue).

Probably an new old ex-girlfriend seeking revenge? *shrugs*

A new old former teacher, a new old nemesis, and a new old ex-girlfriend walk into a bar . . .

"What the hell are you doing in here?" asked the bartender. "If you knew anything at all about MacGyver, you'd know he doesn't drink."

"They're here to talk to me," said the new old former colleague from the MUEA (Mysterious Unnamed Espionage Agency). "Anyway, what makes you such an authority?"

"I'm Mac's new old buddy."

"Oh. Right."

Just reread the comics, and I'm still disappointed he wasn't used. A bounty on MacGyver's head with a bunch of hitmen scrambling to collect? That story was BEGGING for Murdoc.
