On Saturday (02/09/13) I'll be meeting Tony Todd, who played Zimba on the episode "Black Rhino", at GalaxyFest, a sci-fi/literature/steam punk convention in Colorado Springs.

I checked out his IMDB profile and WOW he's done a ton roles throughout his career. Hopefully he'll be gracious enough to sign a prop replica from CHUCK (he played CIA Director Langston Graham in season 1 and couple episodes of season 2). I'll post pics.

That's rad. Tony Todd also played the bad guy's right hand man in The Crow.

Got to meet Tony yesterday (sat. 02/09/13). He is so polite, approachable and tall. I had him sign a replica of his CIA ID from the TV show "CHUCK". When I showed it to him he said, "Now what's this from?" Given the large number of roles he's played and that he was on "CHUCK" back in '07 - '08, I wasn't surprised he didn't immediately recognize it. After I told him what it was, he thought it was cool and said he wanted one. After he signed it and after we briefly talked about him co-starring on MacGyver and then later on StarGate SG-1, I asked if he really wanted one of these IDs, to which he said, "Yes" and wrote down his mailing address on my convention program. I later went back and got a picture with him.

On a seperate note, he drinks Coca-Cola.

Do you go to a lot of conventions?

Not usually. It's often times too expensive when you add up travel, hotel, food, convention passes, autographs, etc.

Never been, but want to go to DragonCon and San Diego Comic Con.

I like him in his way of speaking. He has this polite way, talking in deep voice. Did he say anything on his experience with MacGyver? Think I'll be watching Black Rhino tonight.

My friend and I once talked about going to E3 in LA. I think one of these years we're going to go. I want to keep an eye out for when RDA or Zlotoff/Lee might be attending any conventions in LA because I want to be a total fangirl, geek out and get some autographs. XD

It's funny you say that because I almost watched that episode last night. I ended up watching Blow Out with my best friend instead. She's new to MacGyver, so she's been supporting my geekdom. lol

His first comment was, "That was a long time ago, a long time ago". He said he had a fun time working on MacGyver and that RDA was / is a real nice guy. He said the same thing on his experience working on StarGate SG-1.

Tony did his Q&A on Friday night, so I missed it and I didn't want to take up too much of his time and "geek out" on him while there were other people in line to get his autograph.

He definately has a presense about him.

Cool story. Glad he still remembers.
