The US is once again allowing folding pocket knives with a blade less than 2.36 inches to be carried on planes.

This is good news for MacGyver fans and hopefully indicates the beginning of a more common sense approach to security which will see the relaxing of some pretty stupid security measures such as full airport-like security checks at the Smithsonian Institute - as if anyone is going to hijack a museum.

New TSA rules allowing small knives on planes

But we still are restricted to 3 ounces or less of shampoo, mouthwash and toothpaste, which as we know is where the real threat lies, not with small sak.gif. headbutt.gif

TSA and the illogical rules they impose are such a joke. roller.gif

Remember the toothpaste in The Assassin? And have you seen the ads for the mouthwash that explodes in the mouth?! That stuff's way too dangerous to be on a plane!! happy.gif

Great! Thanks for sharing. That way when I get my new SAK I won't have to leave it at home when I travel, or put it in my checked bag!

Unless they are measuring only the edge of the blade itself, you still can't carry a normal SAK, like a Tinker for example. Even if it is suppose to be only the edge that counts, TSA will still get it mixed up and it'll be a roll of the dice if you get you knife taken away. These people are notorious for ignoring or not knowing their own rules, or not showing any common sense, human decency, or any other quality of person should have. I'm sure they'd even have poor Mac on a "watch list" due to the places he travels and people he associates with, never mind the stuff he carried in his pockets. I'm ashamed to be from the same country as these blue gloved thugs.

Wheeljack, your reference to the TSA as "Blue Gloved Thugs" got me to thinking about the similarities between the TSA and the two members of the Blue Sun Corporation from "Firefly". surprise.gif
