Those are the mirrors I'm talking about. I ended up buying a set of them several months back, even though I don't have another Wrangler . . . yet. The mirrors on Mac's Jeep were mounted to the top door hinge, when the doors were removed. To do this the brackets on the mirrors, used to attach them to the bottom of the windshield frame, were removed. There is some type of spacer installed on the bottom of the top door hinge to make up for the difference in height of the door hinge itself and the distance between the side view mirror arms. I've contacted several companies that sell after market Jeep parts and no one has been able to tell me what the part is.

I get your point. But... I wanna still make sure.
So you mean, that if you have those mirrors as in my sended picture, so you want to place the mirror to top of the door hinge with that - ->[mysterious spacer part], so the mirror is bit of higher?

I found some mirrors like that for my Jeep but now I don't remember where Should have saved the site when I found them haha. They only fit 2007 model years and up but still looked nearly identical to the ones in the pic. on here. If I can find them again I'll post them (and possibly buy them )

I actually hope to get a Wrangler myself. It'll probably be my next vehicle. I currently have a 2001 Dodge Dakota 4x4, which originally belonged to my Dad. He signed over the title to me when I moved so I could get it registered.

I love this thing. Its got a V8 engine and sucks gas like there's no tomorrow. It's rusted, dented and dirty... and has about as much personality as Mac's Jeep.

My baby that needs a lot of cosmetic love. Kudos to anyone who can figure out the license plate. LOL I don't live in NY anymore, so I don't care about covering up the plates. trivia: the license plate was my Dad's nickname in college. XD



I figured I'd add what was on the dash (still there, mind you). There's a plush Dodge Ram that my sister got for my Dad and non-working compass that I attempted to fix (and failed). And for you gamers, Chibiterasu from Okami is hanging from my mirror. LOL

As best I can tell, based on the screen cap. the top mirror arm rests on top of the top door hinge, while the spacer part is positioned between the bottom mirror arm and the bottom of the bottom door hinge. In the screen cap, I believe the spacer part is the white looking thing. The mirror is secured with either one long screw/bolt or two shorter ones (one at the top and one at the bottom).

Once installed, the mirrors look to be set lower than if they were mounted to the bottom windshield hinge.

Thank you! I checked that out and then went on Google to search for "KDX style mirrors for 2007 and up Wrangler" or anything similar but it seems that those mirrors are specific to the model years on the site. I haven't looked at them closely yet but I was wondering if they could be adapted to my Jeep's door hinges when I have the doors off in summer. They won't mount to the doors the way the stocks one do because the configuration is totally different but I may be able to make them work somehow without the doors. We will see

That's what I'm trying to figure out as well, how to attach them to the top door hinge. I've spoke with several Jeep / 4-wheel drive specialists and no one has been able to help me out. I'll keep trying.

Sounds good, I'll take a look at my door hinges and measure them when I get home later today. I'll post the measurements here if you'd like to see if yours are similar
