Below is a link to a YouTube video showing the ease with which one can replace the scales on their Victorinox SAKs.

From what I've discovered replacement scales are not sold through Victorinox, except to select dealers and they are the 91mm length, which is the size of a Huntsman, Tinker, Spartan, etc.

I recently wrote a letter to Smaug asking for a couple of his scales. I've heard dragon scales are quite hard, second only to mithril, and should work a lot nicer than the flimsy plastic ones saks come with.

Goodness, a SAK fan and a Hobbit nerd?

If you're also a Transformers fan we might be twins.

Heh, I'm a Transformers fan from way back. Back when the toys were made of metal, not plastic, and when they had those little, heat sensitive stickers that showed an Autobot or Decepticon face when you rubbed them with your finger.

But we'd be triplets, not twins. I have a twin sister, though as far as I know, she's not a Transformers fan. smile.gif
