We all have films in our collections which make everyone else in the house groan and make a frantic dive for the remote control. We love them anyway!

Allow me to start the ball rolling by admitting that in my extra-mature collection of cheesy films reside the following:

Best of the Best
Torque
Any Which Way You Can
Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man
Hudson Hawk
All the Fast and Furious films
Smokey and the Bandit
Hooper
Convoy
Tango and Cash

And I'll be adding Pacific Rim as soon as it's out on DVD biggrin.gif

Off the top of my head ... Airplane! comes to mind. Well, at least in the cheesy department. It was cheesy, so cheesy that it's quite likeable actually .... and it's only a real ogre who can't get at least a few chuckles out of it all.

The difference between the impossible and the possible lies in a man's determination.

Whether you think you can or you can't .... you're probably right!

I've been looking for 'Best of the Best' for quite some time now. I hope it gets a blu-ray. It's one of the movies you really have to get from underneath the dust. But I've got plenty of those.

I can't believe Fast and Furious is on that list. Cheesy maybe but worst? I wasn't exactly enthousiastic on the first two, Tokyo Drift was a start, the fourth one was a little careful but more action-related but the last two really blew me away. I know the action scenes doesn't make any sense but in which movie they do?

As matter of fact I really like having old forgotten action movies. Movies like Black Rain, The Last Boyscout, Lock Up, Metro. Or movies that are still cool but somewhat dated.Maybe not so forgotten but these movies were pretty old when I bought 'em. There is this thing about movies that are so soaked in the year or decade they were made in.

Best of the Best for instance is a good example of that. Just look at Philippe Rhee and or even better Eric Roberts with their mullets.

I think the worst film I have is Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold and Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot. That movie could've ruined Sly's career forever. Even Rocky V is better than that.

Aye, worst is relative - these are the ones that I like, but that make people I know run screaming for the hills nasty.gif

You know what they say: don't knock it till you try it. Everybody says Sly and Arnie are bad actors. What do they know? I even wonder if they actually even know why they don't like them. I remember how my mother always used to cringe when I came home with Stallone's or Schwarzenegger movies. They're not even so bad. Cheesy doesn't mean bad. Cheesy means brains off, popcorn and cola.

Correct!
It's the involuntary cringe from someone else (who probably hasn't seen the film) that does it. Bring on the popcorn! biggrin.gif
