I just found this news article on the website of a Belgian newspaper. It dates back from last year though on February the 23rd around the time Belgian actor Adriaan Van Den Hoof tested a few MacGyverisms on television.

The article says that MacGyver became famous as the guy who could dismantle a bomb with a hairpin. The show that ran from 1985 till 1992 probably brought forth a lot of do-it-yourselves and the theme is still remembered by every fan.
Richard Dean Anderson played Jack O' Neill afterwards in Stargate, but it was already done; only the name MacGyver stuck. Even now the actor still experiences that in the far Salvador in Brazil.
Anderson was in South America to celebrate carnival. At the age of 62, he doesn't look so tight anymore but still has that terrific smile. He didn't mind going on pictures with some fans.
I think the poison that was used was applied to this knife, passed to the mutton when it was cut and then activated by the wine. - MacGyver.
Sometimes you just have to die a little inside to be reborn and rise again as a stronger and wiser version of you.
