I was just wondering on how much Mac used to have all these Phoenix gadgets while going on assignment and which one you think was the coolest.

We have the tracking device he used in Squeeze Play and Mountain of Youth. Someone actually got an idea what that device was in Faith Hope and Charity when he was tracking the wolf. Right before he steps in the trap he uses it over the ground. Was that a metal detector of some sort?

Maybe we can make a list of the things he used and put them on a new page for the forums?

It was a radio tracking device. These are actually real and have been used to track wild animals for quite a long time. They're really not much more than a radio receiver. You wave the big aerial around and when it picks up the signal from a radio transmitting tag on the animal it makes a noise so you start moving in that direction. I think the noise gets stronger as the signal strength increases, so essentially you can get direction and distance from it.

These days, I understand, they use GPS tracking so they can see the animals locations on a map. Kinda surprising the Phoenix Foundation wasn't using it back then, but I guess if they had Mac wouldn't have had any reason to be out there.
