There is a story concerning everyone's favorite villain . . . Murdoc.

It seems there is a crazy fan who has mentally "jumped the shark".

There are typed quotes from the deranged fan's Facebook posts, which contain foul words and detailed descriptions of what she plans on doing to Michael and his family (which of course have been redacted).

Given the varying ages of MOL fans, I'll leave it to a MOL admin to decide whether or not to post the link.

Let's hope they nail this sicko and set a benchmark punishment that will deter future weirdos from doing the same. Celebs are all too vulnerable to these cyber-attacks and I don't think Facebook (in particular) does nearly enough in the identification screening department. Perhaps it is time!

It's not the screening that's the problem it's what they do with the wack-jobs once they start causing issues which is the problem.

And I have to say that Facebook does a better job than Twitter. At least with Facebook you can report posts, people etc at they get removed for violation of terms; Twitter has only recently started taking reports etc seriously after coming under fire with some higher profile cases such as the Charlotte Dawson bully attacks.

I couldn't get rid of the facebook spam and hounding solicitations - it drove me crazy. Twitter is far more respectful and non-invasive from my end.

Given the nature of any and all social networks, a personal responsibility is required when giving and taking information. Simply because it is THAT much easier to reach out to others.

It is most unfortunate that Michael's site has this sort of abusiveness currently overweighing it. And another reason to limit the amount of information that goes out to a general public that you do not know.

I was referring to more to serious stuff like bullying, threats etc. Twitter tends to ignore it while Facebook takes action, usually in the form of deleting the account.

Mind you, that's about all they do, and I would agree with anyone who says they need to do more. Illegal activities should be passed onto the police and the police should take them seriously.

I think there is still a lot of "it's only the internet. Turn the compute off" mentality in society. Oddly enough those people don't say "close the envelope" when someone receives a threatening letter in the mail though.

Twitter should well have come under fire - allowing people to tell someone to 'put their head in a toaster' or 'hang yourself' is just ridiculous.

Facebook isn't bad, depending on what you are attempting to report. I've reported several pages full of pornographic videos and images, yet the response I received told me that these pages 'didn't violate their guidelines'.

Whatever the deal is with MDB, I hope its sorted. Nothing worse than a crazed fan - although someone who speaks like that and makes threats can hardly be considered a 'fan'.
