There’s a little weird feeling that those highfall stunt records that have been made every decade, really don’t make sense anymore after this one 2016. What I mean is that when the first jump record without parachute was made in 1978 (90m), then second record in 1986 (99m) and the last before this one in 1998 (104,5m). So every jump made after 1978 was always couple meters or ten meters higher to break the record. But now when somebody suddenly jumps from 7 kilometres, I think there is nobody who is gonna try to jump couple meters higher than 7 kilometres, only to just break that record.

Kind of funny feeling, because a while ago I wondered that who is gonna be the next to break that 1998 record and I was positive that the jumper who ever is gonna be would only jump again from couple or ten meters higher


Now you can say "when you have seen the one big jump, you have seen them all"

So, last Thursday I came home from work and was surprised that there was a lot of commotion going on at a donut shop right across from my apartment. I work two blocks away and had to find an alternate route home because the main street was blocked by police.

As I pulled into my complex I saw there were cameras and bystanders EVERYWHERE. I was like... what's going on? I found out today that a scene was being shot for a movie called What Lies Ahead, staring Rumer Willis (Bruce Willis and Demi Moore's daughter) and Emma Dumont.

Nothing really new going on here, just working and such. Been on the busy side as of late because my boss is getting transferred in about a week, so I've been trying to clean up my office and stuff. At least look like I'm an organized human being (I'm not) for the new boss.

I MacGyvered my bicycle. The chains made terrible squeking noise, so I added a lubricant to them. When I test drived, it didn't work. It sounded like the whole cluster and chains were completely dry, just like I would need a gallons of that lubricant. I also noticed they had little brownish color, so I poured a water from watering can all over to the chain mechanism and when I test drived again, there was a sudden silence...I was quiet and the bicycle was quiet

Yes, Stargate is awesome! And I'm usually not so much into SciFi-Stuff...

But I like them all. At first, I was a bit miffed that RDA got less and less screentime over the season. But the actors and characters are interesting enough to carry an episode by themselves.

I talked to my new boss yesterday, and he seems really nice. But, I'll find out for sure how well we'll get along in the next couple of weeks.

I work as a church secretary. I'm currently trying to clean my office... it's kind of a mess right now though... XD Before that I was a bank teller for 9 years.

I do love Stargate. I wish I had gotten into it sooner. I had just graduated high school and was getting into the work force, so I really didn't have time for any of the shows I was watching at the time.

When i first saw Stargate SG-1, it had just premiered and I was a huge fan of the movie. Had to say that although i found it quite interesting, it was a little campy. I also loved the fact that every planet they went on had people speaking English prior to the existence of the language of course.

I know they did this for time issues but i still believe they could have worked around it. It was a modernized version of Star Trek with Teal'c being the Vulcan.

While the movie focused primarily on Jackson & O'Neal, the series created a team effort again which i at first disliked and then there was the whole goa'uld which never existed in the movie. The aliens simply took possession of their hosts. And this reminded a bit too much of Dark Skies, another sci-fi show which came out around the time, just before i think that had ganglions (goa'uld) which took over the body of potential hosts. (Wonder where SG-1 got that idea from ).

Well, in my country, everyone on television speaks German anyway, so I was never aware that this also happens in the US. Back then, I was so naive to believe that they speak another language with English subtitles in the original version but everything gets dubbed into German because we're too lazy

I think it's well established in FanFiction and in the Stargate Novels that the Stargate somehow automatically makes you understand whatever language you encounter on your new location once you stepped out on the other side

Yesterday, I watched an episode of "This is Us" (it just started airing here) and I was surprised that they left the background commentary (of a football game on television) running in English. That's new for me. I'm not sure if they had time issues while dubbing because usually everything spoken gets dubbed.

I went to Greece in 1989 and we were watching TV i caught up on some German TV where they were showing an episode of MacGyver dubbed in German. It was funny at first because i always saw it in its original form.

After watching a couple episodes at the end of season 2 and start of season 3, then I started watching Stargate in order. The crazy thing was when I first started I was watching whichever one came on tv that night and I ended up seeing the season 3 (?) one with Sha're in it!

I was at College when Stargate aired in Switzerland/Germany and didn't watch TV that much. There was a lot of homework, studying and a boyfriend that needed attention ;-)

And I wasn't that interested in SciFi anyways. But my dad watched it avidly. One night I watched with him for at least 15 minutes until I realized that was RDA on the screen. He was "so old" *gasp* and his voice was all wrong (because he's dubbed by someone else on Stargate than on MacGyver) and what's up with the hair???!!!!

I think that was a season 3 episode as well. (The same had happened with MacGyver where "The Widowmaker" in Season 3 was the first episode I ever watched.)

So after my first MacGyver rewatch in English two years ago, I decided to give Stargate another chance (I loved RDA, after all) and only 10 minutes into the pilot, I was hooked. And Jack O'Neill looked so hot! And his short hair looked so good!

I guess it's easier to fangirl for RDA in his mid-fourties if you're in your mid-thirties than when you're 20

I'm gonna be odd man out... XD I actually have zero attraction to RDA in Stargate. I think it's because personality wise, Jack is a bit of a turn off for me. Not that I don't love Jack, as I did find him hilarious... just not in the "attraction" department.

However, I did swooned over Corin Nemec as Jonas Quinn. lol What can I say? I have a thing for nerdy nice guys.

MacGyver will always be my favorite though... followed closely by Jonas Quinn and Sam Winchester.

But I've always looked up to "smart" characters. For instance, my favorite characters growing up were Penny from Inspector Gadget and Gadget from Chip n' Dale Rescue Rangers. Those were my idols.

Of course I grew up, and my tastes matured, but hey... it was the 80's. XD

@Barry - Thanks Barry! I like my job, thought it's true... it can get a bit hectic sometimes. XD But, it's been the best job I ever had!

I always found his character a bit annoying. But I wouldn't have minded if they had let him stay. It's just a bit weird; he 's a full team member for a full season and after that, he's practically vanished with a disappointing story line.... because the old cast member came back. I think they could have found a place for him as a regular (even if he wasn't on SG-1 anymore - maybe get him into one of the other SG-Teams?)

A lot of Daniel fans didn't like Jonas because they felt he was replacing Daniel. Personally, I thought Jonas was a very interesting character, and I found him easy to relate to.

I actually found Jack more annoying than I did Jonas. *gasp* lol

But, what I find annoying in a person greatly depends on their personality and attitude. As long as someone is good natured, they're okay in my book. However, if someone is a jerk and treats people with little to no regard... then I get annoyed, and I generally steer clear of such folks.

Today was a bitter sweet day, as it was the last day for my boss. My new boss starts tomorrow. I miss my old boss already. :/ *sigh*

I always liked Shanks' take on Daniel. It was a good rendition of how Spader played the part in the movie.

But i have to admit that RDA's version of O'Neal was not on par with Russell's performance. Russell depicted a far more realistic "torn" soldier than RDA portrayed it.

Then you get Mili Avital's portrayal of Sha're which is SO different to that of Vaitiare Hirshon.

Now I have two weeks off *yay*.

Well, I did manage to at least pay all the bills I had to pay. But I'm in Stockholm until Friday, so no on all the other boring stuff like cleaning, throwing out old clothes... .
