Gosh, I could watch that all night.

Amazing!

So I have this bookshelf screwed into the plaster wall in the guest bedroom next to my room. It's been there for over a year. While I was in the shower it gave way and crashed, spewing dry plaster dust and throwing my books everywhere. The real problem is the number of ceramic figures on that shelf and on the shelf under it. I was so relieved to see that most of them were fine, or only had minor breaking that could be glued.

But one dog lost it's head, which is in pieces, so gluing it back together will be interesting. Worst of all, a giant ceramic dog that I painted myself fell and smashed. The body is mostly in one piece, but the head smashed apart, and it lost a paw. So we'll see if that one can be fixed. Gosh, I hope so.

I'm sorry to hear that! I know how upsetting it is when something you work really hard on gets ruined.

Thanks, Mac85. I could try to find another one, but I don't really want to go to the trouble of painting a new one all over again. We'll try to glue it later today.


The awkward thing is finding pieces all over the place. Like, "Here's an eye! Oh, the muzzle's over here..." I actually found an ear that somehow slid all the way into the farthest corner of my room, which is next to the room the shelf fell in. Boy, that travelled far

On the plus side, we just managed to glue most of my things back together. As expected, most of them had only minor damage. The small dog that lost it's head got glued back together surpringly well. But we haven't had a chance to try to fix the big one I painted yet... At least that's the only one that might be lost.

Sounds like you had a bit of a rough weekend DragonDog. lol

Glad to hear you got most of it fixed though! Hopefully the big one will get fixed and won't be a loss to you.

I'm just baffled that it just suddenly gave way. Like a fly landed on it and the shelf went, "Nope."

Well, I knew I needed new bookshelves anyway. Ones that AREN'T screwed into the wall.

We're in the middle of a nasty thunderstorm. It's so dark out that without lights on, you can't even see your way down the hall, like it's the middle of the night. There's a band of light around the horizon. We'll most likely be getting hail, and we keep losing power. So I might not be on here much today, since no power means no WiFi.

I just finished up all my errands, so I'm just chilling in the air conditioning right now. It's hot as hades outside, and it's busy, like idiot hell opened it's gates today.

I love thunderstorms actually. I find them therapeutic. Working in a church, the high ceiling in the sanctuary makes for great sound during thunderstorms, and since nobody is usually around, I just kinda wander the place taking pictures and what not.

Here's a video I did not that long ago. Quality isn't very good because it was taken on my old phone, but my boss loved it.

I love thunderstorms too, just not losing power. It's a nice video, by the way!

We never did get hail, and most of the power losses came while I was trying to post about the storm in the first place

So we finally manged to get my giant dog glued back together. it's still really cracked and chipped on one side, but it's fine otherwise. So I guess I didn't really have any losses from the downed shelf.

I feel awful today. I was fine this morning, but now I keep dry heaving. I hope it passes soon.

Thanks, Dash. I have been feeling better as the day's gone by, but it still sucks. I had to postpone my plans for Chinese food, and I left church when the sermon barley even started since that was when I started feeling ill.

I have a doctor's appointment in about a week, and I'm going to bring this up then. I never got sick during 2016 or 2017, but I've gotten sick three times this year.

I hope you're feeling better Dragondog!

Was there any luck at the Doctor's? I wasn't sure if you had gone yet or not... but do keep us posted!

I haven't been sick in a little over a year, but I've had other issues. Nothing too bad, just stuff that pops up as you get older. For instance, certain foods don't sit well with me anymore so I've had to adjust my diet. I'm currently taking probiotics and that has helped a great deal.

I've actually had to cut down on my coffee intake as well. I'm down to one cup a day during the week, and two on the weekends. Usually it's twice that.

Getting old sucks...

Curious, does anyone on here use protein powder?

My appointment's on Tuesday, so we'll know more then.

I am feeling much better now, but I have to be careful about my acid reflux. If it acts up severely and I don't catch it, it could lead to trouble


I think most of the trouble was caused by a really crappy diet. I've been eating mostly cereal, and I think my body finally couldn't take any more. So I've been ordering some salads and stuff from our local Panera, and now I feel way better.

We're supposed to be going out to Red Lobster tonight, so I'm praying that I can handle that

Red Lobster went fine, so I think I'm much better. Still going to talk to the doctor though. But if I can eat crab meat without getting sick, then I doubt I have anything to worry about.

That's good to know you were able to enjoy a Red Lobster dinner! I, personally, love crab and lobster.

I actually was suffering from acid reflux the past couple of months, for some odd reason. However, my diet was also rather poor. My own fault really. Mostly just laziness. lol I'm starting to make some changes though to a more healthier diet.

Well, keep us posted on how things are going!

The acid reflux is no joke, but apparently it all seems anxiety related. When I get distracted, I feel fine, until I have to eat, then I get anxious, which makes me feel ill.

I think ever since my allergies made me so darn sick last month, I've been paranoid. Of course, I'll know more after Tuesday, but anxiety seems to be the case for now.

Yeah, that combined with any food triggers can be frustrating.

Coffee seems to be a trigger for me. *sigh*

This is why you never drink coffee on a empty stomach, people... like I do, every single morning for the past decade.

A friend of mine got me a coffee mug that says "UGH"... that is my new favorite mug. XD

I feel way worse today, but I can't tell why. I keep dry heaving, but not throwing up. I wasn't even stressed, until now.

I hope the doctor can figure it out tomorrow.

I just got back from the doctor's office. They're running a bunch of tests. I had blood drawn. They sent me an anti-nausea medication, which should help.

Any word yet on your results?

Just went to see a specialist today. He put me on a new drug that should help keep my acid production under control. Thankfully, he also said that my symptoms aren't severe enough to be considered anything serious, and that my test results were all fine.

As for feeling better, it's kinda touch-and-go. I'll feel awful during the earlier parts of the day, but after a while, I'll feel better. This new pill should help, though.

Well, hopefully the longer you're on the medication, the better you'll start to feel.

But, glad to hear it wasn't anything serious.

Yes, I was panicking more than I'd like to admit But it's not serious.

In fact, the doctor yesterday got really loud when he read that I lost a bunch of weight, until I said that it was over the course of 18 months. He literally replied, "Oh, that's not so exciting". Well, I'm glad you're eager to fix me, sorry it's not that serious, lol. He was really good, though, despite his desire to treat something serious.

I don't want to jinx it, but it seems my new medication is helping. It's still hard to eat sometimes, but I don't feel so nauseated now. Makes it much easier to work on my newest fanfic.
